Undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. kept his streak alive last night (September 14) after taking down fellow boxer Marcos Maidana in Nevada.
The respected fighter went 12 rounds to win his 47th match after taking down his publicized rival in the scheduled rematch.
Mayweather connected on more than half of his punches, as he jabbed and kept moving around the ring. The fight lacked the action of their May bout when Maidana landed more punches (221) than any opponent of Mayweather’s career of the 37 tracked by CompuBox. Maidana landed only two punches in the first round, according to CompuBox. (Forbes)

Things turned ugly when Mayweather accused Maidana of biting him in the eighth round.
“Something happened and then my fingers were numb. After the eighth round my fingers were numb. I could only use my other hand. He bit me. I realized he bit me.” Maidana denied the bite in his post-fight press conference. “Maybe he thinks I’m a dog, but I never bit him,” he said through a translator. (Forbes)

Money Mayweather will reportedly bank over $30 million from the fight.
Mayweather kept his WBC welterweight championship and raised his record to 47-0 by reverting to his quickness and craft.
