Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn’t here for Uncle Sam. The sports legend has come forward to speak out on a publicized 2015 tax liability story.

Floyd went to Instagram Tuesday (July 11) with a lengthy post about paying nearly $30 million to the IRS in 2015.

Last night, Floyd’s longtime pal 50 Cent lit up social media over the widespread story.

This week, reports surfaced about Mayweather’s unexpected legal woe.

Mayweather remains unable to pay a 2015 tax liability and filed a tax court petition on July 5 asking the IRS to allow him a reprieve until the McGregor fight. The filing also asks the government to waive a penalty for failing to pay. The former five-division champion has enough assets to afford the tax bill, he just doesn’t have the available cash. A few days ago, Floyd’s must-see Conor McGregor boxing match promotional clip went viral.
