With New York rapper A$AP Rocky preparing for an upcoming tour alongside pop star Rihanna, SOHH reached out to legendary booking agent Peter Schwartz about the scheduled journey.

No longer an amateur in performing in front of screaming fans, Schwartz believes Rocky’s growing popularity will only intensify on RiRi’s nationwide roadtrip.

“I just think it’s a great tour for him,” Schwartz told SOHH, referring to A$AP Rocky. “He’s a real hard worker and I think he’s done a good job of supporting artists at the right time and we’ve been developing his headline touring. He just finished a 47-tour where he sold out most of his shows with a two and three thousand capacity. First he supported Drake, then he headlined and now he’ll support Rihanna and I’m sure he’ll follow that up with another big tour after. So it’s really a big piece of the puzzle and go with the timing of his upcoming new album. I think it should get him in front of new [fans].” (SOHH)

He also talked about A$AP building confidence as he tears down bigger venues.

“That’s something we take great interest in and try to help the artists develop that,” Peter added when asked if experience plays a key role in choosing what venues to perform at. “Rocky’s a good example of somebody who had the right skills from the beginning and I think not every artist understands that showmanship quality. I think he is actually someone who does and he’s someone who’s been able to translate that into his shows. He’s come along and grown, his show continually gets better. He’s very involved in how it looks, how it sounds, the right flow of songs and how it’s presented. I think he takes great care of that and that’s a positive trait he has.” (SOHH)

If all goes accordingly, the tour will kick off in early March just hours away from his Harlem, New York hometown.

A$AP Rocky will join Rihanna on her “Diamonds” world tour, which happens in big arenas and stadiums across America beginning in March. She must not be too mad at him for grabbing her butt during their joint performance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. In some ways, this sets a clock ticking on A$AP Rocky’s debut album LONGLIVEA$AP, which has been pushed back a few times already. It seems unlikely he could set out on a big tour without readying the release first. 03-08 Buffalo, NY – First Niagara Center * 03-10 Boston, MA – TD Garden * 03-12 Baltimore, MD – 1st Mariner Arena * 03-14 Philadelphia, PA – Wells Fargo Center * 03-15 Hartford, CT – XL Center * 03-17 Montreal, Quebec – Bell Centre * 03-18 Toronto, Ontario – Air Canada Centre * … (Pitchfork)

Along with booking tours for high-profile acts like A$AP and Wiz Khalifa, Schwartz also holds a top-ranking position at The Agency Group.

Peter Schwartz is a Vice President at The Agency Group in New York, as well as an agent representing a roster of musical artists in a variety of genres. Schwartz joined The Agency Group in 1993, after spending two years at the William Morris Agency. He has been at the company longer than any other current employee in North America and has been an integral part of the growth of the company from a small boutique agency to one of the most prominent music agencies in the world. In his position as Vice President, Schwartz helps oversee operations of the New York office. As an agent, he handles a very diverse roster of talent, including over 40 artists in the genres of Hip Hop, Children’s entertainment, Pop, Reggae, R&B and DJ’s (to name a few). (The Agency Group)
