Terror Squad leader Fat Joe recently talked about working alongside Kanye West for their "Pride N Joy" smash hit and how Ye's track record allowed Joey to have him dismantle its original sound.

On set of the record’s music video shoot, Joe spoke on Yeezy’s genius and the possibility of them hooking back up.

While Yeezy loved the track Joe played for him, he ended up taking it apart and putting it back together to his specifications. “He was like, ‘Yeah, all right, engineer, erase everything … and now let’s start,’ ” Fat Joe recalled of ‘Ye’s process. “I was like, ‘Wow, this guy’s crazy,’ but you know, it’s an adventure.” Whatever the process, Fat Joe walked away in awe of West’s creativity. “It was amazing, man. He’s a genius,” he said. “To get in there with him is incredible, and he likes perfection, and that only means the record is going to be hot, so, you know I love it.” Whether the two will work together again anytime soon is anyone’s guess. “I really don’t know. You know, there’s some rumors,” Joe said cryptically. “That’s all I can say. It’s a rumor until it happens, just put it like that.” (MTV)

Last weekend, Joe, Ye and more hip-hop heavyweights got together in New York City for the music video.

Fat Joe’s single “Pride N Joy,” featuring Kanye West, Miguel, Jadakiss, Yasiin Bey, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash, and Busta Rhymes, now has an official video in the works, directed by the legendary Hype Williams. With a lineup like this, and Hype Williams behind the camera, this has potential to be one of the most memorable videos of the summer. (Complex)

He recently hinted at some in-studio differences he had with Ye when they constructed the record.

“There’s some other real dope parts of that song that we ain’t put on there,” Joe reveals. “But, you know, he’s Kanye West. He’s a genius. He’s the best. I argued with him a little, but I let him lead the way, so that’s how it is. There’s no way in the world you’re gonna get everyone to sing on beat. N*ggas just said, ‘We’re not singers.’ And he was like, ‘That’s the dope sh*t.’ We off beat. We ain’t no R&B n*ggas. We singin’ that sh*t off beat.” (XXL Mag)

Their star-studded collaboration emerged out of the blue in May.

Once again, Bronx, NY rapper Fat Joe is giving us a sneak peek into his upcoming as-yet-untitled 11th solo album via a new guest-packed track. Dubbed “Pride and Joy,” the song’s guestlist is impressive, to say the least, with everyone from Kanye West, Mos Def and DJ Khaled to Miguel, Jadakiss, Roscoe Dash and Busta Rhymes making an appearance. The song was produced by BINK! and co-written by Rico Love. (Exclaim)
