As you surely know from the all the snapshots, behind-the-scenes looks, previews and trailers, Fat Joe has been working on the star-studded, Hype Williams-directed video for his “Pride N’ Joy” single for quite some time now. Well tonight, Joe Crack finally premieres the finished product. And while just about everybody and they mama ‘nem showed up for the video — OK not everybody, it was just Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled, Jadakiss and Ashanti (who is killin’ a mean pair of purple leopard pants) — only Kanye West, Miguel and Roscoe Dash actually have vocals on the track. (Well, the only ones with vocals you can actually discern. I think everybody was technically singing.) The other folks were just there to show love. “Pride N Joy” is the lead single from Crack’s forthcoming, as-yet-untitled 11th LP. (Soul Culture UK)

A few weeks ago, Busta Rhymes admitted he nearly missed out on making the music video shoot.

“I just did this video featuring Uncle Macho harassing the sh– outta me to do this sh– for Joe Crack, ’cause he’s my brother,” Busta told MTV News last month with his arm around Fat Joe’s longtime manager. “They don’t accept ‘no’ from their brother, so I had to come through.” West admittedly has a big ego, but it was Busta who was the most difficult to wrangle for the shoot. “Busta Rhymes tried to call me up to tell me he’s on his way to the airport, he can’t make it,” Joe explained. Recent reports claim the hip-hop stars all united in New York City for the hit single’s visual.

Fat Joe’s single “Pride N Joy,” featuring Kanye West, Miguel, Jadakiss, Yasiin Bey, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash, and Busta Rhymes, now has an official video in the works, directed by the legendary Hype Williams. With a lineup like this, and Hype Williams behind the camera, this has potential to be one of the most memorable videos of the summer. (Complex)

Earlier this summer, Joey Crack hinted at some in-studio differences he had with Ye when they constructed the record.

“There’s some other real dope parts of that song that we ain’t put on there,” Joe reveals. “But, you know, he’s Kanye West. He’s a genius. He’s the best. I argued with him a little, but I let him lead the way, so that’s how it is. There’s no way in the world you’re gonna get everyone to sing on beat. N*ggas just said, ‘We’re not singers.’ And he was like, ‘That’s the dope sh*t.’ We off beat. We ain’t no R&B n*ggas. We singin’ that sh*t off beat.” (XXL Mag)
