R&B singer Faith Evans has announced plans to release a long-awaited Notorious B.I.G. duet album called The King And I later this year.
Faith released a couple Instagram posts on the album title this week.
According to reports, Evans and rap veteran Snoop Dogg have a new track on deck for the project coming together.
Faith is recording “The King and I” for her late husband … and she invited Snoop to join her in studio on Wednesday to record a track. No word on what song they’re doing, but this session comes 5 years after their last song together, “Way You Move.” (TMZ)
In a recent interview, Faith acknowledged Biggie Smalls’ murder still being unsolved after nearly 20 years.
“I just feel like in our hearts we, me and his mom, feel like we know what happened and … we know justice may never be served – We know he was murdered, but we believe that the LAPD knows who’s responsible. That’s what we believe,” Faith said in an interview. “All we can do is hope that that happens. But we’re just happy that we’re here to preserve his legacy and [make sure] his kids are happy and they’re living great lives. They realize the importance that he played in his short time, not only on this earth, but even shorter time in the music industry. He, obviously not knowing, he definitely built something for them.” (HuffPost Live)
In 2013, the singer and Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy paid homage to B.I.G. during a Los Angeles performance.
Faith Evans brought along some old friends during her show at the House of Blues in L.A. on Wednesday. Following an opening set from Kelly Price, the R&B diva was joined onstage by Diddy, who helped her pay tribute to her late husband, the Notorious B.I.G., with their classic “I’ll Be Missing You.” “Thanks to my bro @iamdiddy for coming out to rock the stage w/me & @1500orNOTHIN 2nite!” tweeted Faith. During her appearance on “Bethenny,” Faith spoke about her relationship with her former Bad Boy boss. “We keep in touch. He sends my kids Christmas gifts every year,” she said. (Rap-Up)
