Fabolous' upcoming There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music mixtape has suffered a slight setback by having its release date pushed into September.
Despite the release being moved from August 31st to September 6th, Fab said he is still confident in the project’s overall quality against its competition.
“The EP was something Def Jam came to me about doing. The mixtape had a lot of success in the streets and online. They came to me with the opportunity of putting it out to more of the masses. I guess for certain people who didn’t pick it up, now to add something new to it. Add the videos, add a couple new songs and call it There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music [mixtape]. This is just the music to help you get through them tough times. Another sad day for the competition.” (MTV)
Newly added songs to the project (initially a free mixtape, but now offered at retail value), were revealed last month.
Now that the funeral is over, the grieving process begins. Fabolous, in all-black-everything, pays his respects to the deadcareers on the cover of his EP There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music Mixtape, rising August 31. The set features six songs from his Funeral Service mixtape, plus two new tracks “Lights Out” and “Girl You Be Killin’ ‘Em.” (Rap-Up)
Fab took the opportunity to use Twitter to help promote his upcoming album’s cover art in late July.
“Here’s the official artwork for “There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music EP”: http://wp.me/pq2uK-3NU,” he wrote Wednesday night. (Fabolous’ Twitter)
The project’s eight-song tracklisting recently landed online.
1. “Lights Out (I Don’t See Nobody)” 2. “Girl You Be Killin’ ‘Em” 3. “I’m Raw” 4. “Body Ya” 5. “Body Count” 6. “Tonight” feat. Red Cafe and Lorel 7. “The Wake” 8. “Body Bag” feat. Cam’ron and Vado (There Is No Competition 2 EP)
Fabolous’ There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music mixtape is set to drop Tuesday, September 6th.
