Brooklyn rap veteran Fabolous recently updated fans on the status of his delayed Loso’s Way 2 solo album and revealed what last-minute additions he plans to make.
If all goes accordingly, Fab will have R&B hitmaker Ryan Leslie and star producer Pharrell Williams contribute to the LP.
“Yeah man, I am tightening it up. I was almost at a final pivotal point of the project in trying to wrap it up, but I bumped into my guy Ryan Leslie, who wasn’t on the project yet, so now we getting in the studio and coming with some stuff. I think everybody knows the chemistry that we have, and the kind of music he makes with that organic New York feel to it, so I really wanted him to be a part of this project. Also Pharrell, he’s got a new hunger again for hip-hop, so he came to me and said ‘yo we gotta get in again,’ so am gonna go check him out as well, and lock it down, and get this project out to the fans.” (The Source)
While Fab would not reveal the exact reason, he did admit some type of technicalities forced him to delay the project back in May.
Previously due June 18, Loso’s Way 2 will now arrive in late July (either the 23rd or 30th). “We actually pushed back a little bit. We needed to handle some technicalities.” Twelve years after releasing his debut, Fab feels confident about his status in the game. “I’m cool, I’m blessed, and God has blessed me to be here,” he said. “This is a young man’s game, so it’s a blessing just to be here still now.” He plans to do some acting, but music remains his focus. “I definitely want to get more present in the game.” (Rap-Up)
A month prior, Loso announced his star-studded solo effort would hit stores on June 18th.
Fabolous stopped by BET’s 106 & Park on Wednesday afternoon to world premiere his video with Chris Brown, “Ready.” Loso explained the video’s concept, and filming it in the Dominican Republic. The Brooklyn spitter used the appearance to announce his Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power album will hit shelves on June 18. When touching on features, Fab says to expect Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Rick Ross, Future, Young Jeezy, plus a few more surprises. (Miss Info TV)
Earlier this year, Fab revealed his interest in snagging fellow New York veteran Nas and West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar for the project.
“Future’s on there. Rick Ross is on there as well, and I’ve been talking with Nas and trying to reach out to Kendrick,” Fab revealed in an interview when asked who would appear on his upcoming Loso’s Way 2 solo album. “[Release date?] Not yet. I’m looking like May-ish. Mid May, end of May.” (“Los Angeles Leakers”)
