Rapper Fabolous has confirmed his appearance on the upcoming remix to Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana‘s “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” collaboration.
According to Fab, the G-Unit camp reached out to him for a verse on the official remix.
“We did a remix to ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley,” Fab said in an interview. “Yeah, they had reached out to me, I think I had Twittered it or something so somebody had reached out to me like ‘Yo, we would love to have you on the remix,’ and I was like yeah that would be dope. Actually I worked with Banks before, I don’t think it ever came out though, like something for his first project, I’ve been trying to dig up that song, [DJ] Clue been trying to dig it up as well, he’s got his shovel. I guess it’s in the G-Unit fort.” (This Is 50)
According to Southern rapper Slim Thug, a remix to “Beamer” is currently in the works with himself.
“yep im doing the beemer benz or bentley,” Thug wrote in an Q&A forumn. “they called me this weekend.” (Formspring)
Banks recently spoke on how his collaboration with Juelz Santana came together.
“The Juelz feature is something that didn’t happen in [the past] because we had two of our own entities,” Banks explained in an interview. “G-Unit had a lot of our own artists we had to showcase, same with Dipset. I was doing records with Prodigy, Mobb Deep, with everybody. I didn’t have to go outside the circle. I was excited about the staff we had there. Now it’s time for change.”To have ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley’ added to [radio station] Hot 97 within three or four days was incredible. That was one mixshow weekend that really came at the right time. I’m so thankful, man. It goes to show as long as you keep striving for what you believe in and your goals, you can make it happen.” (MTV)
Last summer, Fab shared his opinion of Banks as an emcee.
“We kinda came up together too,” Fab said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid. “Because at the same we was coming in, I saw him coming in under 50 [Cent]. I always respected Banks’ lyrical talent as well because he was one of the dudes that actually puts words together and does it cleverly. I always tipped my hat to him when I saw him. We did numerous tours together. I never had [the mystery collaboration]. It was Banks’ record. They got it. Sha Money got it and not letting it go — if I would have had it, it would have been out. I would just let it go on a mixtape, you would have been had it.” (Radio Planet TV)
