According to Fab, there is a deep meaning behind each of his three S.O.U.L. Tape releases.

“One, definitely because I was a New York artist and the evolution of those venues as well,” Fab said when asked why he went with iconic, black-and-white images for his S.O.U.L. Tape series covers. “It started from Apollo and then Radio City and then I guess the only thing you can say bigger is Madison Square Garden. I wanted to show that, keep stepping up a notch, now with showing and telling. … I just think holidays are a dope time to release free music where people can download and have it as something they can do over the holiday. Christmas is a great holiday for kids but the adults, maybe not as much. They don’t get as much so maybe giving them a free tape is something they look forward to.” (Fuse TV)

Staying true to his word, Loso unleashed his newest music offering on Christmas Day.

Fabolous drops off his Christmas day offering with the third installment of his mixtape series Soul Tape 3. While Loso promised a new LP Loso’s Way 2 earlier this year, the Brooklyn rapper chose to conclude his Soul Tape trilogy instead. “I think you give em a trilogy and move on to a new series,” he recently told REVOLT TV. “One of the thing I was doing with the tapes was trying not to go dormant while I was still working on a project, touring and doing all these other things. I wanted to give em something to hear.” (VIBE)

Fab’s new underground project features a slew of star-studded collaborations.

1. Everything Was The Same ft. Stacy Barthe 2. Sacrifices 3. Playa 4. The Get Back 5. Foreigners ft. Meek Mill & Mike Davis 6. The Hope ft Jadakiss 7. You know ft. Young Jeezy 8. Cuffin Season 9. Thim Slick ft. Jeremih 10. Lay Down ft. Ryan Leslie 11. Situationships ft. Mack Wilds & Tiara Thomas *Bonus Cut* 12. Young OG (Soul Tape 3)

A few days ago, Loso teased fans with a promotional video clip for the new release.

As snow falls over NYC, Fabolous debuts the black-and-white trailer for his mixtape Soul Tape 3. He shows shots of his hometown, from the Brooklyn Bridge to Brevoort Houses to Times Square, while a new AraabMuzik-produced song plays in the background. The third installment in his Soul Tape series drops Christmas Day featuring Mack Wilds, Stacy Barthe, Jeremih, and Estelle. According to Fab, it will probably be his last. “You give ’em the trilogy and you move on to a new series,” he told Revolt TV. Pharrell will also have a hand in his upcoming album Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power, due in 2014. (Rap-Up)
