Former Cash Money Records rapper B.G. has reportedly inked an open letter to fans updating them on his current situation behind bars as he serves out a 14-year gun conviction sentence.
In the first portion of the letter, B.G. gives props to his fans and promises new music is coming.
“Greeting’s, Hot boys + Hot Girl’s, Soulja’s + Souljarette’s, Real niggas + Real Bitches, Ladies + Gentlemen. I want everyone to kno that I truly appreciate all the Love + Prayers I have received over the past 15 months. And like my Homie Scarface said, “DAM IT FEELS GOOD 2 BE A GANGSTA”. I kno alot of people wondering, why So much Time for gun’s? The answer is Naggas Like me “DON’T” and “WANT”, Co-operate under No Circumstances, so they push for the Harshest sentence possible. It’s cool though. They can lock up My Body but they Cant lock up my Soul. I just been laying back writing handling this situation like a Real Nigga should. Im staying Prayed up, Keeping my head up. I kno my fans been asking for some NEW SHIT, its coming Soon “PLEASE BELIEVE IT”. Just keep holding ya nigga down, and praying for Ya Boy. I want yall to kno I miss + Love yall just as Much as yall miss + Love me. I Love the way my Real Niggas + Bad Bitches been holding me down and keeping it 100 that’s what’s up. [sic]” (AHH)
He also says fans can expect more interactions and updates in the near future through social networking outlets.
“KEEP IT 100 is not just a Song of mine it’s a Lifestyle. It’s how I get down all the way around the Board. If Im with you, Im with you 2 tha END. What’s Understood don’t need to be explain. Real recognize Real and I Respect all of my fan’s because without any of you I wouldn’t be who I am, “THA HEART OF THA STREET’Z”. I get some hot shit coming yall kno how I do. Last month, former Hot Boys member Juvenile reacted to B.G.’s legal woes.
“I mean 14 years was unexpected – I knew he was gon’ get some time …. I ain’t know it was gon’ be 14 years. It hit me like everybody else. Like, ‘Man, d*mn. Did it get that bad?’ He was on paper; he was on probation, and he had like a little drug charge or something that he got caught with. And, all that just fell in on him at one time ’cause he had like three open charges when they caught him.” (XXL Mag)
Prior to beginning his sentence, the rapper discussed his lengthy bid.
“I mean, everything is everything. I got 14 years, I got 11 off that, I’ve been gone for 15 months so that puts me at 10, 11 — I’m a convicted felon and I shouldn’t have had a firearm. I had a firearm on me and I can’t take that back,” B.G. said in an interview. “I took my licks and I got to do my bid. It is what it is. At the end of the day, you have to live with the decisions you make as a man. I made my bed and I’ve got to lay in it. You know how the feds operate. If you don’t want to give them nothing, they may be extra harsh on you.” (Q93)
