Promising this is not a stunt or ploy for attention, Lozada said she is fully for animal rights.

VIBETV caught up with PETA’s latest campaign star Evelyn Lozada fresh off her nude “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad release. She backtracked to the moment she decided to relinquish her furry tendencies. “If you watched last season [of “Basketball Wives LA”], I had a fur vest on. After I filmed that season, a friend of mine…sent me [a video] so I literally watched it on PETA.org and it forever changed my views on wearing fur.” Evelyn admitted to having a $30-40,000 mink that she later gave away. “You can just tell they’re really suffering and you say to yourself, ‘Is it really worth it?'” She is a proud owner of five dogs and has become very conscious of her personal habits, no longer eating meat and making sure her make-up brushes utilize synthetic hair. Lozada’s eye-catching PETA campaign ad got unveiled earlier this week.

The ad was unveiled on Tuesday in Los Angeles by Lozada, a former fur wearer. In the PETA ad, shot by top celebrity photographer Drexina Nelson, Evelyn shows the world that a woman “does not need to wear fur to be glamorous or beautiful.” (RumorFix)

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame has partnered with the non-profit organization on numerous occasions.

Atlanta-based Brick Squad hip-hop artist Waka Flocka Flame never stops when it comes to raising awareness about animal protection. In advance of his sophomore album Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family, Waka earns a “Round of Applause” from animals everywhere for his second PETA ad, which is aimed at stopping chaining, fighting, and other abuse of dogs. Waka’s adorable co-star in the ad is Daphna, a rescued dog from the Atlanta Humane Society who is named after PETA’s vice president of cruelty investigations. (Crunk & Disorderly)

Last year, PETA spokesperson Megan Rondeau spoke to SOHH about celebrities going nude for animals.

“Celebrities and athletes don’t have to be vegetarian or vegan,” PETA spokesperson Megan Rondeau told SOHH when asked if Flocka had to give up eating meat to participate in their campaigns. “That’s not a problem at all. I think that people often find there might be one cause that they’re very compassionate about and we love to work with them on it. [Our naked celebrity PETA campaigns] kind of goes both ways. Sometimes an artist will say, ‘I want to do a naked ad.’ I’m not sure if in this specific case whether Waka said that, but a lot of times, yes, artists and athletes will say they want to do it naked and they’re so all about it because it gets so much press — I think people get really excited about it and want to get the message out which is not to support the fur industry. So I think we try to really work with the celebrity and we would never try to push somebody to get naked if that was something they didn’t feel comfortable doing.” (SOHH)
