David, who has made a name for himself in the United States as well, said Em’s camp reached out to see if he would be down to share the same stage this winter.

“They got in touch with my manager a few weeks before the show was announced asking if I’d be interested – and for me it was a no brainer,” Dallas told SOHH. “I think the touring company tries to find acts that would suit in whatever territory they’re going to, and apparently they passed the music on to Em & his management and they get final say. However it happened I’m stoked. I’m definitely a fan. Around the period of The Eminem Show and 8 Mile soundtrack, the guest spots, the diss tracks to Benzino – that era specifically, he just seemed like he had the mechanics of rapping completely figured out. When I started trying to write I definitely took a lot of influence from all that, just the technicality, his patterns and flows etc. So ill.” (SOHH)

Despite being on the same bill as “Rap God,” Dallas said he is up for the challenge.

“Definitely gotta hold it down, but I don’t feel any more pressure than I’d normally put on myself to try and perform well,” Dallas added. “If anything I’m looking forward to it. We don’t ever get big hip-hop shows here in New Zealand, so I feel like it’s gonna be this landmark event for us. I actually just wanna see his show, I’d be heading to it whether I was performing at it or not. I just wanna enjoy the whole spectacle, and maybe see what I can learn about how things are done at that level.” (SOHH)

Buzz behind the upcoming run surfaced across the Internet a few weeks ago.

Eminem is reportedly set to announce plans for live shows Australia with Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Chance The Rapper and Action Bronson, on what is sure to be one of the most controversial, offensive and ego-packed tours of 2014. Bring it on. As yet, only one live show has been announced for the tour – taking place on 20 February 2014 at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium (as reported by Hip-Hop Australia), but sources down under fully expect more shows to be announced in the coming weeks. Some reports claim Dallas is the replacement for hip-hop act 360 in New Zealand.

Eminem has this morning confirmed his tour dates for Australia and New Zealand as part of Rapture tour, which features Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Australia’s own 360. The much-rumoured tour, promoted by the Dainty Group, was confirmed by theMusic.com.au last month and was partially leaked last night with an incorrect line-up. Today the three Australian east coast dates can be confirmed, with one show in Auckland. In New Zealand 360 will be replaced by local David Dallas. Regular tickets go on sale Thursday 31 October, but VIP fan ticket packages are on sale straight away through premium ticket company Showbiz. (The Music)
