“Eminem’s Not Afraid To Tell A Story When A Lot Of People Shy Away”

With the new Jay-Z and Kanye West Watch the Throne album continuing to conquer radio waves and music charts, SOHH recently chopped it up with "American Idol" alumni Kimberley Locke to see who she would want to make a joint LP with.

Without hesistation, Locke told SOHH hip-hop star Eminem would be a no-brainer dream collaborator.

“I would love to work with Eminem,” Locke told SOHH when asked who she would want to make a Watch the Throne-esque album with. “I would. I love Eminem. I love everything that he represents. I love his [talent]. He is so talented. I love his storytelling and the passion behind his raps and what he raps about. He’s not afraid to tell a story when a lot of people shy away from telling certain stories. He just puts it all out there. He likes ‘Whatever, this is what it is.'” (SOHH)

Asked ideally what kind of sound would they go for, Locke said she would be fine lacing Em with hooks.

“I would want to do [songs] like he did with Rihanna, ‘I Love the Way You Lie,’ that would be ideal,” Locked added. “I would love to sing one of his hooks and do that with him. I’ve always been a fan of him. I have his songs on my iPod and when I go running in the morning, I’ll play ‘Collapse’ [from The Eminem Show album]. That is one of my favorite songs of his and it just motivates me and makes me want to keep going.” (SOHH)

Earlier this week, West Coast rapper Game said he would do a joint LP alongside Snoop Dogg if given an opportunity.

“If I had to link up with someone on the West Coast, first and foremost it would be Snoop – Snoop is my dude, that would be crazy, that would be a crazy collaborative effort right there,” Game said in an interview. “[Does the West need a Watch the Throne-esque album?] I don’t think the West Coast needs anything, I think we’ve been perfectly fine doing what we been doing forever, the West don’t need nothing we straight, we get everything we need — we got the DUB! We the only Coast that can throw up the DUB so let’s ride with that.” (Dubcnn)

Having sold over 500,000 in just two weeks, Jay and West’s new LP has also been described as a classic by Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em.

“I mean, yeah, the album is dope. It’s a classic because it’s Kanye collaborating with Jay-Z,” Soulja Boy said in an interview. “Anybody collaborating with Jay-Z, it’s going to be on that next level. That was real dope. 2011, Jay still goin’ hard and he got his artist behind him so it’s inspirational. That’s something I want to do with my artists one day. I want to be on the level of Jay-Z and have my artist with me to do an album together. So, much respect. I like the album.” (VIBE)

Not only a former “American Idol” contestant, Locke has made a name for herself appearing in 2007’s “Celebrity Fit Club” and is slated to host her own ABC show in early 2012.
