According to reports, Em’s new anthem will become the theme and sound of “Saturday Night Football” when Michigan faces off against Notre Dame.

Eminem’s “Berzerk” will be the new sound of Saturday Night Football on ABC. For those not in the know, that’s the most watched series celebrating college-level pigskin on television. And sports are the primary reason television still exists, so all told this is a big get for the Detroit MC. His first single from The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will play “throughout the telecast in various capacities, including highlight packages and coming in from, and out of, commercial breaks,” per label Universal Music. Diehard Em fans will also have a chance to peep the record’s music video teaser during halftime.

According to the announcement, the September 7 showdown between Notre Dame and Michigan will feature a haltime treat: a sneak peek of the forthcoming music video for “Berzerk.” That will actually air on ESPN, while the aforementioned program — full name: Saturday Night Football Presented by Windows — will begin using Eminem’s song when the series begins on September 14. MMLP2 is out November 5 on Aftermath/Interscope. (SPIN)

The new Slim Shady anthem premiered a couple weeks ago via premium radio station Shade 45.

Eminem has shared “Berzerk”, the aptly-named new single off The Marshall Mathers LP 2, his upcoming eighth studio album and the sequel to his 2000 album The Marhsall Mathers LP. Sampling Billy Squier‘s “The Stroke”, the song harkens back to Em’s early material when his tongue was pressed more firmly in his cheek, while also taking more than a few playful notes from Beastie Boys‘ songbook. “Berzerk” was premiered this evening on Eminem’s Sirius/XM radio station Shade 45; listen to the studio version below (via RapRadar). Jay-Z announced the news through a Samsung commerical which played during tonight’s (June 16) NBA Finals Game 5 (Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs). In the three-minute ad, Jay-Z is seen recording and brainstorming in the studio with Rick Rubin, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. “The album is about, like this duality of how do you navigate through this whole thing, through success, through failures, through all this and remain yourself,” he tells Rubin of his twelfth studio album.
