Eminem’s April Fool’s Day Joke Falls Flat In Motown

Grammy-winning rapper Eminem has reportedly left just as many people scratching their heads as Lil Wayne following a now-deleted tweet which appears to have been part of a delayed April Fool’s Day joke.

Eminem reportedly jumped onto his Twitter page Tuesday (April 1) to reveal plans for a big announcement.

“We’re gonna rock this house until we knock it down. My fans in the D, I’ll be on @mojointhemorn tomorrow with BIG news. 7:30AM #tooearly,” a now-deleted post read. (Eminem’s Twitter)

However, a day later the big news came in the form of a pre-recorded message.

Eminem’s message that aired on Channel 955 (95.5 FM) after the station posted Tuesday on Twitter and Facebook word the rapper had something interesting to share: “This is Eminem, you’re listening to Channel 955 and I just (expletive) myself.” The real Eminem news is that he’ll be going on The Monster Tour with Rihanna in August for shows in Detroit, New York and Los Angeles. A second show was added to each city late last month due to overwhelming demand for tickets. (M Live)

Not to be putdown, Young Money’s Lil Wayne jumped onto his Twitter page and seemed to kill past reports of his impending retirement for April Fool’s.

“I’m retiring…April f••kin foolz!,” Wayne tweeted April 1. (Lil Wayne’s Twitter)

The Louisiana native recently reflected on his plans to stop making albums.

Asked about his legacy as he nears his self-imposed retirement age of 33, he said he used to want to be remembered in the same way The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur and Jay Z are thought of. Now, he’d prefer folks think of him as a beloved figure. “I would just say I’d like to be remembered as a good spirit, a good soul, like a Willie Nelson … like a Snoop Dogg,” Wayne said. (AP)
