Grammy-winning rapper Eminem may have been planning for big rap star takedowns four years ago after an unreleased "I Get Money" track has now surfaced online showing Slim Shady going at Jay-Z and Kanye West.

On the track, Em is heard rhyming over 50 Cent‘s 2007 hit’s instrumental.

t the beginning of the track, Eminem proclaims his return — which never came until 2009 — before calling out Jay-Z and Kanye with a short bar. “They keep on saying the same rappers are the best / Jay-Z and Kanye West,” he spits. “Maybe they’re just trying to distract you from the fact that I’m coming back / Or maybe it’s cause I ain’t black / Maybe it’s because of that / Maybe it’s because I’m the highest selling artist in rap.” (Baller Status)

Although it is presumed to have been recorded in ’07, there is no clear distinction as of now.

It’s unclear when Em recorded his version, which leaked over the weekend, but we’re guessing it was back around then when he was still using drugs and generally retired from the game. He sounds both hungry and cloudy on the track, often rapping with the vicious anti-social humor that made his older material standout but sounding at times like he has pills spewing out the sides of his mouth. While the leaked track’s origin remains a mystery, a new mixtape of previously unreleased Em tracks recently hit the Internet.

Eminem Recovery wins the Grammy for Best Rap Album and with it comes several not so new tracks to hit the internet. Studioleaks.info, the site that recently leaked Lil Wayne‘s snippet of “You and I,” dropped a whole project of previously unheard Eminem tracks. The mixtape/EP, titled Straight From the Vault EP, features eleven Eminem songs, varying in time periods judging by Em’s ever-changing flow on the tracks. The release has very few cameos, including one with Obie Trice on “Emulate Me,” one with B.o.B. on “Things Get Worse,” and another featuring D12 titled “Going Crazy.” (RapFix)

Last summer, Eminem talked about wanting to record a diss track aimed at Kanye West and Lil Wayne prior to making a strong 2009 comeback from drugs.

“When I made the record, ‘Talkin’ To Myself,’ what I was basically talking about was the time period that I was away, I was kinda watching what was going on in the game and it was like, anything that was hot at that moment or anybody who was really killing sh*t at that moment, I felt so bad about myself and the music that I was creating that I felt like I was starting to turn into a hater,” Em told radio personality Big Boy. “It wasn’t just, singling Lil Wayne and Kanye West at that time period, they were the ones killing it the most, to me, and it hurt. And it was like, ‘F*ck man, I’m not doing it good’ I felt like I came really close, for me, it would have been career suicide. I felt like making a song just dissing everybody who’s doing it in the game right now. I just had the thoughts, walking around in the studio, I think deep down, I wasn’t happy with myself.” (Radio Big Boy)
