While details are scarce, buzz about the unexpected pairing have surfaced online this weekend.

Eminem’s next video will be a Spike Lee joint. Earlier this week, the hip-hop superstar teamed up with the iconic director to shoot a video for his next Marshall Mathers LP 2 single “Headlights” in his hometown of Detroit. He snapped an Instagram photo of him and Spike on set. “Spike came out to The D for the ‘Headlights’ video… Coming soon,” tweeted Em. On Wednesday, Spike paid a visit to 8 Mile, but didn’t reveal why he was there. “Great Day To Be In Motown On Marvin Gaye’s Born Day,” he said. (Rap-Up)

Along with Spike, Em will team up with R&B diva Rihanna for a limited road trip beginning in August.

In the wake of their chart-topping hit “The Monster” from The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Eminem and Rihanna are heading on tour together. The Monster Tour stadium shows kick off this summer, with stops planned for New York, Los Angeles and Detroit. “There are some shows coming up with Rihanna,” Eminem said in an exclusive interview in the latest issue of XXL Magazine. “It’s a three-city tour: New York, L.A. and Detroit coming in August. Recently, the “Rap God’s” tour rider appeared to make its rounds online.

The 41-year-old singer from the US city of Detroit, who once nearly died of a drug overdose, now has a squeaky-clean and booze-free backstage rider. However, the razor-tongued musician, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, refuses to compromise on the quality of his pickles. Eminem advises concert promoters that only pickles by the premier German brand Gundelsheim will suffice in his backstage dressing rooms. Other items required by the rapper include low-fat yoghurt, peanut butter, jumbo shrimps and Swiss mild cheddar cheese. He also insists on dumbbells backstage. (Channel 24)

Earlier this year, Detroit producer Mark Bass, who co-owns the legendary F.B.T. studio, revealed Em had started to lay down new tunes for a D12 reunion album.

F.B.T. has hosted work by artists such as Eminem, D12, T.I. and the Dramatics, and now serves mostly as a personal musical playground for Mark Bass and his assorted projects, including an upcoming album of Motown cover songs by George Clinton. Bass, who has started a label called Motunes Media, says he’s also been mixing new material by the mercurial funk-pop giant Sly Stone with members of the original Family Stone band, along with new D12 tracks, including three with Eminem.
