Eminem has revealed his thoughts on controversial television host Bill O’Reilly after recently being targeted by him on his show saying the Fox personality is “funny.”
Along with briefly discussing O’Reilly, Em also updated fans on his next album following the May release of Relapse in a radio interview today (April 23) with Angela Yee.
“Relapse 2 will be out towards the end of the year,” Em promised. “It’s basically, kinda a continuation of Relapse. That’s why it’s Relapse and then Relapse part two. That album is actually, probably, if it’s not finished, it’s extremely close to being finished. I guess it depends on how many more songs I wanna put on it or whatever. I guess that’s up to me…Cameos I have on this album are just [Dr.] Dre and 50 [Cent]…[Bill O’Reilly], that guy’s funny. He’s f*cking hilarious. When I seen the thing, whatever the f*ck it was, when I was surfin’ the Internet which I do so much, I seen it and was like eh, you know. I guess that’s what he does in his world. It is what it is.” (Shade 45)
O’Reilly recently called out Em for his portrayal of Alaska governor Sarah Palin the “We Made You” music video.
“Few Americans take the vile rapper Eminem seriously,” O’Reilly declared on his show. “He represents the lowest form of entertainment in this country and is a publicity hound to boot. His attack on Sarah Palin, which is very crude, seems to be okay with the media…He’s just a, I’m not even gonna do that…It’s so crude what he does, kids see it, not adults. Nobody over 25 goes into this stuff…Eminem is obviously on an obscene rant about Sarah Palin, totally obscene, totally inappropriate, nothing good about it. Not a word from Media Matters, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, NBC News, any of the big media, nothing.” (The O’Reilly Factor)
Marking his return to the spotlight, Em’s video also poked fun at a number of entertainers.
Slim Shady promised he was up to his old tricks in the video for “We Made You,” his first solo clip since 2005. Debuted exclusively on MTV’s “AMTV” this morning and directed by Joseph Kahn, Em does his best preening Bret Michaels, dangling a rose with a backstage pass on it in front of a line of rock star wannabes that includes impersonators of Sarah Palin (Lisa Ann), Samantha Ronson, Lindsay Lohan and a dentally challenged Amy Winehouse. Em previously announced his plan to release Relapse 2 before the end of 2009.
“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” Eminem said in a statement. “I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.” (Press Release)
Relapse is currently scheduled to hit stores Tuesday, May 19 via Interscope Records.
