Slaughterhouse's Royce Da 5'9 recently discussed longtime friend Eminem's work ethic and just how much intensity he places into recording sessions.

When asked about his Bad Meets Evil rhyming partner, Royce boasted about Slim Shady’s non-stop grind mentality.

“Marshall is the type that never really stops recording, so when you get in the studio he’s in the back room where the booth is and the door is locked,” Royce said on the set of Slaughterhouse’s “Throw it Away” video, where Em made a cameo. “Nobody’s allowed back there, nobody ever knows what he’s doing. All I know is that he’s constantly working, so if he told me that he had an album ready right now, I would believe him because he’s like a work horse. He works every day.” (MTV)

Last month, Em revealed beginning work alongside longtime producer Dr. Dre for his follow-up LP.

“Yeah, of course he’ll be involved,” he said. “I usually get going and kind of start going a certain direction and just record what I’m feeling. Then I’ll go see Dre and fill in some of those pieces.” (Shade 45)

Earlier this summer, Em talked about wrapping up the forthcoming Slaughterhouse Welcome to: Our House LP.

“I’m actually finishing up one of the last songs for it, right now,” Em said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid. “Today, as we speak. Yo, turn the snare up a little bit. Bring that kick down. [I’m mixing now during this interview?] Yeah. That’s why I’m not paying attention. It’s just me, man. Yeah. I rap their verses for them and then I present it to them like, ‘Yo, here’s how you guys should say this and here’s what you should say.’ It’s pretty much how we do it. [Who’s the most annoying?] Royce [Da 5’9] by far. [Physical confrontations?] Nah, we don’t have to go that far. We just know we have a mutual dislike for each other. And then we just leave it at that. The bad feeling’s mutual. We don’t like each other so we don’t get upset with what each other says or anything like that because we just don’t care.” (Shade 45)

In May, Royce hinted at Marshall Mathers’ return to making music for himself.

“Em is fantastic,” Royce said in an interview with radio personality Tim Westwood. “He’s in the studio right now, in between mixing our stuff and working on his solo stuff. He’s keeping hisself real busy.” (“Tim Westwood TV”)
