[Tweed Cadillac was signed to Ruthless Records in the early 90s as one half of the group Penthouse Player’s Clique right during the height of the label’s success. He worked with Eazy-E, DJ Quik and several other West Coast Legends and Pioneers over the year. Nowadays if he is not busy doing sold-out shows with Quik he is hosting his own radio show 93.Tweed FM. Check out some of our best “Murder Master Music Show” moments with this West Coast OG below!]

1. Eazy-E Was Geared Up & Ready To Do A Lot Of Stuff

He was a good dude man! Eazy was geared up and ready to do a lot of stuff for a lot of people. It took me years to get out of that contract because his wife ended up getting the company. They fought me to get out of it but finally I was able to get out of it and when years go by if you ain’t hot no more, you ain’t hot no more.

2. On R&B Oldie Radio Success As A Host W/ His Show 93.Tweed FM

Millie Jackson is my Godmother now, I call her God Mom and I can call her up on any given day and she gives me game. She kinda helped my radio career as well because she had a show down there in Atlanta and she showed me some dos and don’ts! There is another guy by the name of Kevin James who is the inventor of the Quiet Storm and he took me under his wing as well and told me at the rate I’m going I will be in the top 10 of R&B Oldie Radio Stations within a year and it actually happened. It’s beautiful to be around beautiful people. I’m in the National Broadcasters Coalition for Radio, who woulda thought something like that? And the funny part about it is they don’t even know I was a rapper.

3. Remembering Jerry Heller

What everybody else said about Jerry Heller, Jerry Heller did this or Jerry Heller did that, well not from my perspective. I can tell you one incident that meant so much to me because I was a little short of money, and Eazy-E was out of town and I called up to Ruthless Records and I said “Sir, I need some funds!” and Jerry said “Well, come on up here!” When we get to the office I said “Jerry, I just need some chippers!” He just gave me a check and told me to go to the bank which was in Beverly Hills. I’m trying to cash the check and the teller is looking at me funny and gets the manager, and they pulled me out of the line and I gave them a card and told them to call and they called and the lady came back and gives me my cash. By the time we walked back to the car Jerry called me to find out if everything was good. I could never say nothing bad about Jerry. Jerry has always been cool to me man! When I had him on my show (93.Tweed FM) I made sure not to disrespect my guest. He is cool man! I went to his book signing and he invited me to his home. He had nothing but love for Tweed Cadillac and I got nothing but love for Jerry Heller.

4. Doing Shows W/ DJ Quik

That shit blew my mind as well too because, we was beefin’ for a minute but when it really came down to it, it was never personal! He looked out for me and said “Come on Tweed!” and he took me to the Crush Groove and I did the How the West Was Won concert with like 17K. I had a ball! To me that really made my rap career finalize because I never thought I woulda been on the How the West Was Won. There was Mack-10, Bone, Snoop, Too Short, 40 and it was a beautiful experience. Shout out to Quik for doing that for me. He really looked out for me!

5. First Time Doing A Song W/ Suga Free

And he (DJ Quik) put me on the Mid Night Life album as well, that was good man! It was a very nice album and he got his point across and the music was always phenomenal. The funny thing about it was it was the first time I ever did a song with Suga Free and that was fun in itself.
