According to Drizzy, the solo album’s debut will move a couple weeks into June.

Talking to MTV News earlier in the evening, the Young Money franchise player revealed the release date for his much-anticipated debut LP, Thank Me Later: June 15. The date isn’t the only gem the “Best I Ever Had” rapper and two-time Grammy nominee dropped. He also revealed that he’ll be performing a new song from his album on tour called “Fireworks.” (MTV)

Initial reports suggested the album would drop in late May.

It’s official. The most anticipated hip-hop album of the yearfinally has a release date. Drake’s debut Thank Me Later will arrive on May 25, Rap-Up.com has learned. Drake will travel across the country performing material from the album on his first headlining trek, “The Away From Home Tour,” kicking off April 9 at Penn State University, and wrapping in Houston on May 20, a few days before the record’s release. Last month, the rapper also updated fans on the project’s near completion.

“The sun just came out. I mean I haven’t seen it yet cause I am in the studio but I know it did. So good morning,” he wrote Wednesnday (March 31). “I am working on the last song for Thank Me Later. What a different journey it’s been this go round. I wish I could share so much more with you but there are just too many new people involved who have dedicated their time to “the reveal”. Should I just post the entire thing up now and say no the methods and yes to the mayhem???? Ha. I’d love too, but this is something special that I feel needs to be delivered to you in the way you deserve it to be. Remember the days of well thought out visuals, album thank you’s, funk flex rants, all the things that came with the release of a new album, the things we’d look forward to…well I hope I can make you remember. I’ve worked hard on this body of work and I feel like every artist involved has given me their absolute best. I cannot wait till it’s yours. The relief I will experience on release day will be euphoric. I look in peoples eyes and see not so much the doubt, but the uncertainty, the question that looms…and whatever the answer is I think we’re both ready for it. These overwhelming moments are to be cherished. On that note fond readers, I will see u soon somewhere along the way. Mr. Walters pull the car around front…its time to go home.” (October’s Very Own)

As of late, tracks from the album have leaked online including Drake’s “Shut It Down” Dream duet.

A new song by Drake featuring The-Dream is leaked. Titled “Shut It Down”, the piece is produced by Noah “40” Shebib and Omen who also co-produced Alicia Keys‘ duet track with Drake, “Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)”. The slow-jam song is reportedly not the final version but has been confirmed to be listed in the Canadian rapper’s debut album “Thank Me Later”. (Ace Show Biz)

    • i can’t because of the whole dress thing, i can’t support any nigga who throw that kinda shit on then try to reason it as “fashion” the real life gangstalicious

  1. that phoenix song is pretty tight so is angels i think i might give it a listen. and to all the ppl who say its gonna flop why dont you get off your ass and support an artist. hiphop fans are the most unloyal. look at country music those fuckers always push major units because their fans support them no matter what.

    • i said an artist so i wasnt just talking about him. Everytime and album drops thats all that gets posted. And i bet your still listening to kanye

    • lol i am, idk what to do about that, i’ll stop buying his albums but i’ll still listen to him

    • so at the end the skirt thing doesnt matter. i agree with you that it is hella suspect though

    • o the skirt thing matters, and the whole interest in fashion in general, but if kanye was gay he wouldn’t be chasing hoes like amber and kim, i haven’t seen asap with a girl yet, and iggy azalea has his name tatted on her and he ain’t done shit about it, now that’s gay

    • i meant that as a question. so it should of read. so at the end the skirt thing don’t matter? and that i agreed that that skirts were gay

    • u dont kno what that man does behind closed doors. kim probably sticking him while he wears that skirt.

    • he heavily influenced A$AP’s style, spaceghost is the one who came up with the spacey and drifty tone that asap uses, you can hear it heavy in “goldie”, peep one of spaceghost’s songs you’ll hear it, i don’t think asap stole his style exactly, he just took it and did better with it

    • They both was homies at one point before the lime so I think it’s fair to say they influence eachother musically.

  2. The game has been monopolized. only the same 5 artist will sell. another 10 will act like they sell. the rest will be treated like trash for not selling.

  3. Even without the leak niggaz wasn’t checc in for him..maybe 16 year old girls..glad this nigga on that Texas wave cuz real Ny niggaz don’t wear dresses

  4. dudes need to stop trying to run around being little russell simmons, talking about sells projections and just enjoy man. y’all dudes letting the industry get to you with all that how much this album sells shit. thats why these young kids thinking lil wayne is really the best rapper alive because his sells is good, when some of that really love this art form knows sells don’t mean shit. also i’m not a fan of asap, i just hate people get stuck on how good this album is selling and if it don’t sell good your shit is trash.
