OVO Sound boss Drake isn’t just doing it big in the music biz. The 6 God is reportedly gearing up to star in an upcoming TV series called “Star Boy.”
According to reports, the London-based drama is in the process of putting together a major role for the rap star.
Last year it emerged he had bought the rights to the Channel 4 show after it was dropped by the broadcaster. And Ashley Walters, 34, who plays Dushane, tells me producers are creating a significant role for the Canadian megastar after meeting with him last week. He explains: “We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him. He loves acting, of course he wanted a part. He’s going to be really hands on and is getting stuck into it.” (The Mirror)
Some reports claim the show is expected to return to TV next year.
There are no other details on the third season of Top Boy at present, though it is suggested it will return in 2018. Last year Skepta revealed he was assisting with the show’s revival, saying he and Drake were creating “greatness” together. (The FADER)
Earlier this year, Drake rubbed elbows with “Top Boy” actor Ashley Walters.
A couple years ago, Drizzy dished on his plans to act again.
“I can’t wait to get back into acting. No one ever asks me to do movies, and, although music is my focal point now, I’d love to do a film. That was the life that I lived before, and it would be interesting to live it again.” (W Art)
