Young Money's Drake is sticking to the script after being asked about hooking up with one-time music rival Chris Brown in a recording studio a few days ago. #hush
Despite a publicized photo receiving massive attention, Drizzy fell back from questions about his status with Brown.
The rapper shied away from talk that his longstanding feud with Brown — which reached a head when the two had a very public brawl at W.i.P. nightclub in New York in 2012 — is over now that Drizzy shared a shot of them together via Instagram on Friday. He also gave the broadest hint that he and Rihanna were never serious, insisting he has always been a “bachelor.” “Actually, my status (as a bachelor) hasn’t changed, just to clear that up,” he said. He also talked about hosting this week’s annual ESPY’s ceremony.
Drake will host the 2014 ESPYs along with LeBron James on Wednesday, and he told us he’s completely focused. “I have put everything on hold to give the best possible performance I can at this awards show,” he said. “When I commit to something, I don’t let my focus stray.” Drake promises “a few jokes” for athletes at the ceremony, which will be televised live at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. According to the latest reports, Drizzy will appear on Chris Breezy’s upcoming solo album.
They’re now in the studio … laying tracks down for Chris’ new album. We’re told Drake will perform with Chris on some of the songs and he’ll also be the producer. Two other reasons Chris and Drake think working together will sell more albums: — People will pick the lyrics apart, trying to figure out if they are talking about Rihanna … the woman who they both slept with and the catalyst for the W.i.P. brawl. — Everyone wants to hear who sounds better — Chris or Drake. A new photo of Drizzy and Breezy in a recording studio surfaced online Friday (July 11).
A Drake stan Instagram page posted a photo of the OVO/YMCMB rapper and his former bottle-brawlin’ nemesis, Chris Brown, in the studio together early this morning. In the photo, it appears that Chris is singing while Drake holds a double-cup and listens intently. No word on whether or not the two frenemies worked on any music together or if this was just a bonding session to build some good vibrations. (Bossip)
