Young Money's Drake is living out his dreams and rap bars after shouting out a certain television talk show celebrity on Nothing Was The Same and now being slated to appear on the host's program.
Drizzy makes an open shout-out to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on his new “Tuscan Leather” track.
On the opening track of Nothing Was The Same called “Tuscan Leather,” Drake namedrops Ellen DeGeneres on the lines: “Yeah, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather smelling like a brick Degenerates, but even Ellen love our shit Rich enough that I don’t have to tell ’em that I’m rich Self explanatory, you just here to spread the story, wassup” “Tuscan Leather” is the Noah “40” Shebib-produced song that samples Whitney Houston in a variety of ways. A week away from release, Drizzy’s newest solo effort leaked onto the Internet yesterday (September 16).
Just days before the official release of Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same has hit the internet. The Canadian rapper’s album is scheduled to hit stores Tuesday, September 24, but the entire LP surfaced online Sunday, just nine days before its release. The album features the highly anticipated collaboration between with Jay Z, entitled Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2. In the song, Drake complains about how his classmates treated him in high school. Despite Take Care‘s ample hit singles, Drizzy recently said he was more focused this time around.
After dropping Take Care, Drake relocated to Los Angeles, where he recorded a bulk of the new album and focused on stepping up his game. “The music that I’m making is more concise, more clear, and I’ve been able to get my thoughts a lot better on this album,” he told MTV News. “Take Care is a great album, but I listened to it and realized where I could do better and I think I’ve done better on this album.” (MTV)
