Drake, Trey Songz and Pitbull have been selected by Kodak to appear in the company’s new “So Kodak” marketing campaign set to launch next month.
To help with the campaign, Kodak has also recruited music video director Chris Robinson to help out with the visuals.
As part of the initiatives, the three stars will be featured in a multi-platform advertising and marketing campaign designed to bring to life what it means to be “So Kodak,” a phrase used to describe things that are hot and worth talking about. The campaign will consist of a series of television spots helmed by music video director Chris Robinson, along with print and online advertising, exclusive events, social media engagement, and consumer promotions. The campaign will primarily connect with the youth and help inspire social activity.
In the current context, “So Kodak” is widely used among youth as a way to describe moments, actions and people that are hot and worth talking about, bragging about and sharing with your entire social network. This explains why the word “Kodak” increasingly appears in conversation, social media, and even popular song lyrics. The campaign, which launches in early October, draws on the brand’s unique position in pop culture to engage young, socially-connected consumers. The So Kodak campaign coincides with the introduction of the newest KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Cameras featuring Kodak’s exclusive Share Button. The Share Button makes it easy for consumers to share their pictures and videos with their social network. (Press Release)
Aside from the new venture, Drake is currently working on his Thank Me Later follow-up.
“Drake’s crazy,” Young Money president Mack Maine said in an interview. “He’s doing a [R&B] mixtape right now. He called me one night, like 2 in the morning. He has the intro done for the new album. We was discussing dates where he should come back. That’ll be soon. And this mixtape, he’s gonna put that out quick. His formula is crazy. He works fast. I can’t give the secret away to the formula. He’s a musical genius. The way he and [producer] 40 put things together is crazy.” (MTV)
