Details of the $100,000 payout to rap veteran Rappin’ 4-Tay surfaced Wednesday (July 16).

4-Tay first put Drake on blast when YG’s hit “Who Do You Love” came out. Drake drops lyrics on the song that are clearly ripped straight from 4-Tay’s 1994 hit “Playaz Club.” 4-Tay was offended Drake didn’t give him credit on the song. No lawsuit was ever filed, but sources close to the situation tell us a very lucrative agreement was reached. 4-Tay’s manager tells TMZ … Drake’s record label agreed to pay 4-Tay $100,000 for “borrowing” the lines. Outside of this, buzz about Drake working on a new album called Views from the 6 emerged this week.

Immediately following OVOFEST, Drake will kick off a 31-city tour with Lil Wayne starting in Darien, New York and ending in Woodlands, Texas on September 27th. In conjunction with video game company Capcom, the tour will present a nightly competition between Drake and Lil Wayne fans. Following the tour, Drake will be headed back to the studio to begin working on his fourth studio LP titled Views from the 6. (Press Release)

Last December, Drake said his fourth solo album could show him swaying away from family-related topics.

“Everytime it just comes out as sh*t that’s going on in my life. I think the next album I do is gonna be different. I don’t know if I’ll necessarily return to family stuff and stuff that I feel I really summed up well on Nothing Was The Same. The problem is I don’t participate too much in social media, so my music is always the update that you’re looking for in my life. Twitter is not my outlet to get my message out there. My outlet is the music so my music always ends up becoming my life. I don’t know how to stop that.” (VIBE)

Aside from the album anticipation, Drizzy took part in a media press conference Monday (July 14) and dished on hosting Wednesday night’s annual ESPY’s awards show.

“Our goal is obviously the night of the ESPYs to completely take over the Internet, for everything that we do to go viral and for people to enjoy days or weeks afterwards,” Drake told reporters. “We’ve been working hard, like I said, on the pre-tapes and on the monologue and on every aspect of the show just to make sure that it lives on past this night, which I can 100% guarantee it will.” (Los Angeles Times)
