According to reports, Drizzy’s ten smash hits topple fellow rap stars Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West’s achievements.

With this news, Drizzy passes previous record holder, Jay-Z, who had nine chart-topping cuts. Below is a breakdown of the top four artists in this realm. And just to note: the total number, like Drizzy’s 10, for example, includes both his own tracks and those he appeared on as a guest. 1. Drake [2009] – 10 (3 Lead, 7 Collaborations) 2. Jay-Z [1995] – 9 (4 Lead, 5 Collaborations) 3. Lil Wayne [1999] – 8 (3 Lead, 5 Collaborations) 4. Kanye West [2003] – 6 (3 Lead, 3 Collaborations) (Complex)

Drizzy’s “No Lie” 2 Chainz collaboration has reportedly placed him atop Jigga.

In the chart’s 70 year history, no other rapper has ever accumulated more No. 1 hits. Drake’s latest collaboration with 2 Chainz rises (2-1) to the top of the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart to become his 10th No. 1 hit on the chart. Drake’s first single was released in 2009, while Jay-Z’s first single was released in 1995. Drake now has the most #1 hits on both the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Chart for a rapper (10) and on the Billboard Rap Chart (12). (ATRL)

He may get even more chart-topping singles after recently announcing plans to work on a posthumous Aaliyah album.

“People should be really excited. People thought it was my single; it’s not my single. It’s all off of an Aaliyah project that me and 40 are commanding and 40’s just doing some incredible, some incredible music right now,” Drake revealed in an interview. “To get 13, 14 new Aaliyah songs, everybody should be excited. It’s not about me. It’s not about 40. It’s about her and her fans and us just getting the opportunity to give you something that we feel is great. And the people around her, everybody from her family to her old management and label, were like, ‘If there’s anyone out that can do it right now, it’s [you] and 40.’ And that was an honor and we’re going to pull in some classic people, anybody who used to work with Aaliyah that was essential in her career we definitely hope to have them involved. So it’s great. You get a new Aaliyah album this year on top of everything.” (Much Music)

Drake is also known for putting out retail-topping albums including Thank Me Later and last year’s Take Care.

Young Money star Drake’s Take Care debuted on the chart this week at No. 1, in front of Michael Buble‘s Christmas which sold 165,500 copies. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Drizzy’s new LP has sold 631,500 records in just a single week. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
