Drake Speaks On Lil Wayne’s Guidance, “I Have The Greatest Mentors In The World”

Young Money’s Drake recently spoke on having Lil Wayne as his boss and what advantages he has gained from the self-proclaimed “Greatest Rapper Alive.”

After recently praising Kanye West for his motivation, Drake has now shared his thoughts on Weezy.

“Wayne is another one that…rap-wise, verse-wise…was my favorite,” Drake said in an interview. “And to be under his wing, to be able to interact with him on a daily basis and talk to him and get information from him, I’m in a blessed position. I have the greatest mentors, the greatest teachers in the world. They all have gradually started to embrace me more and more, so it’s a great feeling.” (MTV)

Both emcees were recently confirmed for a summer tour beginning this July.

We have learned that as of right now it is only Lil Wayne and Drake on the tour, no word on Jay-Z and Young Jeezy who were rumored to be joining as well. We also learned that the tour will begin in July this summer. No dates and venues have been announced but we can expect those soon. This information has been confirmed by Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant. We will be keeping you up-to-date on any news regarding the tour, as well as posting dates as they become available. Drake recently said a tour featuring a couple extra hip-hop heavyweights would likely also take place this summer.

“God willing, if everything goes according to plan and everybody’s schedule is in place, then I will be on tour with some amazing people,” Drake said in an interview. “One of them being Jay-Z, one of them being Lil Wayne, one of them being Young Jeezy and one of them being me.” (Much Music)

He is reportedly prepping his new album beginning today (June 1).

The sold-out Ne York performance was Drake’s last stop before he enters the studio for his debut, Thank Me Later, which he will start working on June 1, Drake told Billboard.com last week. And although he wouldn’t confirm which major label will release the album, he did say he will be signing to one soon. “So Far Gone” was released on February via his blog site Octobersveryown.com.
