Details of the case finally coming to an end bubbled online early Monday (February 11) morning.

Drake has called an end to his legal war with the disgruntled female vocalist from his hit song “Marvin’s Room” — TMZ has learned, the two parties have settled their dispute. TMZ broke the story … Ericka Lee sued Drake last year claiming she co-wrote the song, but never got credit … or paid for that matter. Drake fired back claiming she could pound sand because he never promised to pay her a dime for using her voice on the track. Ericka also claimed that she and Drake had a romantic relationship from 2010-2011 … and accused Drake of threatening her when she didn’t back down from her lawsuit. Drake denied all her allegations. Now, the two parties have come to an agreement — and the case was dismissed February 2nd. It’s unclear if Drake coughed up any money. (TMZ)

Last March, Drizzy broke his silence on the overly publicized dispute.

“It’s more probably surprising, just out of nowhere ’cause I felt like I dealt with it so cordially. I’m a straight shooter when it comes to music. I think it’s pretty established that I write my own songs, I think I’ve had too many hits in my career to ever debate whether I’m doing them or not. So when somebody tries to step in and take credit for something that’s not rightfully theirs, it pains me a little bit but you know at the same time I understand it a little bit. It’s one of those things where you have people around you like, ‘That’s the biggest song. Why don’t you go [do something].’ But I get it. There’s a middle finger for her every night.” (Tim Westwood TV)

In early 2012, Team Drake stepped forward to address Lee’s “Marvin’s Room” claim.

“This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song “Marvin’s Room” prior to its release. Lee asked only for the credit she received as “Syren Lyric Muse,” and she did not ask for any compensation,” a spokesperson for the rapper told Pop & Hiss on Friday. “It was only after she retained a lawyer that there was a demand for payment. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court.” A source close to the performer also stressed the two were never engaged in a romantic relationship, despite her claims. Coincidentally, the Toronto, Canada native picked up a Grammy award for the album “Marvin’s Room” stems from last night.

Drake’s critically lauded “Take Care” took home the prize for rap album at the 55th Grammy Awardson Sunday. For his second album, Drake could have employed a surefire strategy of platinum producers, staggered singles and aggressive promotion to help ensure that the album would avoid that ill-fated sophomore slump. Given the pomp and hype the 26-year-old has amassed over his abbreviated career, such an assault was certainly expected. (Los Angeles Times)
