Young Money's Drake and R&B star Rihanna have once again made headlines for an alleged romance after a photo of them intimately together landed online over the weekend.
Reports claim the two were seen romancing one another at a Canada nightclub last month.
Drake and Rihanna got pretty damn close at a nightclub in Canada a few weeks ago … snuggling up at a private booth — but does the pic back up the rumor that they’re really more than friends? The photo was shot at the Buonanotte Supperclub in Montreal on June 12 right around midnight. One source inside the club tells us the two were “all over each other” the entire evening … and were even seen making out. Rihanna has denied the two are an item — but after seeing this pic, you buyin’ what she’s sellin’? (TMZ)
Last November, RiRi clarified rumors of a past romance alongside Drizzy.
“We weren’t really sure what it was. We just went out – my friends, his friends. I definitely was attracted to Drake, but I think it is what it is, like it was what it was.” Explaining why the romance didn’t work out, the Barbadian beauty added further, “We didn’t want to take it any further. It was at a really fragile time in my life, so I just didn’t want to get too serious with anything or anyone at that time.” (Ace Showbiz)
In January, Drake told radio host Tim Westwood they were merely friends.
“Me and RiRi? Ah, No…Well, [our ‘What’s My Name music video,] it was a moment. I mean, I care for her very much. She’s a great person. Me and Rihanna have a great connection. But no, we’re not together. We’re young. Young kids. Just living life. That’s it. I just want to have some stories to tell you.” (“Tim Westwood TV”)
Around summer 2010, Drake opened up about feeling inferior while with RiRi.
“She’s just such an overwhelming and incredible person,” Drake said in an interview. “And such a talented person and someone that I was like, ‘I can’t believe I’m here talking to this individual,’ that she just gave me that feeling like when I was 17 years old trying to take Nikki Ramos, this girl from Toronto, out on a date and she never wanted to go with me. She never would go; she would have a million excuses why she couldn’t talk to me. That’s how [Rihanna] made me feel, she made me feel small; she made me feel nervous. It just put me back to the Acura in Toronto, feeling like Aubrey Graham, not Drake.” (MTV)
