According to Drizzy, knowing the tough lifestyle and struggles Southern people go through has been reason enough to keep him from spending more time in Memphis.

“My family is like two different worlds and I feel like people only acknowledge one half of it,” Drake told VIBE following the Charlotte stop of his Would You Like A Tour? run. “I have a lot of family that I love very deeply [in Memphis]. But if anybody knows anything about the South and how it is, it’s tough to go around people who could use your help and you can’t help everybody. It’s like a guilt or a burden that comes over me, so I hadn’t gone to Memphis in a long time.” (VIBE)

The Toronto native also said he finally had to dig down and embrace his Southern upbringing.

“I kind of refused to address my real thing that I have there, which is vast family,” said Drake, who addresses how success has put distance between himself and his Memphis kinfolk on “Too Much.” “It’s always going to be tough–it was tough during the video. You want to see everybody do well… Instead of running from it, I just embraced it and shot this incredible, beautiful video with my beautiful family and helped out as many people as I could while I was there. Now I can’t wait to go back.” (VIBE)

Unlike most music videos, Drizzy’s newest visual is just over ten minutes in length.

Drake’s Nothing Was the Same highlight “Worst Behaviour” now has a music video, which was shot in Memphis. It was directed by Drizzy himself along with Director X, who was also behind the immortal “HYFR” video. The 10-minute video opens with imagery from Willie Mitchell‘s Royal Studios (Drake is related to Mitchell). It features a cameo from Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, who lip-syncs the lyrics. Halfway through we get an extended, acted skit, featuring Juicy J and Project Pat and one of Drake’s Toronto pals from the “HYFR” video, who appears in an OVO owl suit. At the end, we get a snippet of what may be a forthcoming video for “From Time”. (Pitchfork)

A few days ago, Drizzy showed off his Dennis Graham-featured “Worst Behavior” music video to select fans during a concert.

Drake’s Would You Like A Tour? tour stopped in New Orleans tonight, and the Toronto native treated the crowd to a special rendition of “Worst Behaviour.” While most audiences have been treated to Drake performing the song himself, tonight, he played the crowd the music video itself on a giant screen. The video was shot in Memphis, and from what can be seen in Instagram videos, Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, is a prominent figure (along with his incredible mustache). Turk, Juicy J, and Project Pat have also made cameos in the video, which was directed by X. With the video available for preview, it is likely to come out soon, within the coming days. Memphis, of course, is Dennis Graham’s hometown, and a place where Drake would spend time during his childhood. (Complex)
