Young Money's Drake decided to get one up on the blogosphere by deciding to unveil the artwork to his upcoming Take Care sophomore album instead of letting it leak online.

Releasing the cover art on his October’s Very Own website, Drizzy also provided a brief message to readers.

Feels like it’s been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24…I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

See you soon.

Last year, New Orleans’ rapper Juvenile addressed controversy about his Beast Mode album cover appearing nearly identical to Drake’s Thank Me Later debut.

“That’s a question the label gotta answer, to be honest. Us as artists, we really don’t have no insight on that part, man. I took a picture…[and] they took the picture and made it into that. I hadn’t seen – And you know what? If I woulda saw Drake [Thank Me Later] album cover before [Beast Mode was sent to manufacturing] and actually had control of it, I woulda stopped it. But it was out of my control, man. I couldn’t do nothing about it. That ain’t even my thing, I wouldn’t try to take nothing away from a younger cat. ‘Cause at the end of the day we all trying to eat. So I don’t wanna do anything to blemish his career – [or] make it look bad on me too… So I’m not really feeling the album cover thing myself.” (Hip Hop DX)

In early September, Drizzy claimed the LP was roughly 80 percent completed.

“I’ve been in Toronto the longest time since I started my career, I’ve been there for four months. The album is a genuine reflection of my life past and my life present, and I have a line on the album where I say, ‘I feel like I was numb to it last year, but I think I feel it now more than ever,'” he said in an interview. “That’s the best way I can paint the picture for you for this album. I got to reconnect with a lot of people I haven’t seen in years, I got to see my family a lot, it stirred up a lot of emotions that I probably wouldn’t have had if I’d been on the road traveling everywhere. It’s almost there. I got some great things, I’m very excited. I’m [the] most confident I’ve ever been, including So Far Gone, including any mixtape.” (Hip Hollywood)

In August, the Canadian-bred emcee said he took his time to become a better lyricist.

“By no means is it the best song on my album, it’s really just the song for this moment, right now,” Drake said about his “Headlines” single. “This is really, in my opinion, my best project…There’s a lot of songs on it. Although people encourage me like, ‘Oh, do 11, 12 songs,’ I think there’s going to be probably 18 songs on it. It’s very reminiscent of ‘So Far Gone’ but the production has stepped up like 10 notches. I feel like I’ve gotten better at rapping, so I’m really excited for people to hear the bars.” (The Juice)

Take Care is slated to hit store shelves Monday, October 24th.
