Drake Reacts To “Take Care” Early Arrival, Addresses Premature Leak

Young Money star Drake has come forward to address his upcoming Take Care sophomore album prematurely reaching the computers of Internet users over the weekend.

While uncertain if the LP leaked in its entirety, Drizzy shared his reaction via Twitter.

“I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore.,” Drizzy tweeted November 6th.

“Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it…and take care until next time.” (Drake’s Twitter)

Drake’s album began leaking track-by-track over the past few days.

Nine days before its release date, Drake’s sophomore album has sprung a leak, starting with Just Blaze-produced “Lord Knows,” featuring Rick Ross, and “Take Care,” featuring Rihanna. The two songs off “Take Care” (Nov. 15) hit the ‘net tonight (Nov. 6) while Drake premiered The Weeknd-assisted “Crew Love” on Toronto’s Flow 93.5. “I know you’ve been hurt by someone else/ I can tell by the way you carry yourself/ If you let me here’s what I’ll do/ I’ll take care of you/ I’ve loved and I’ve lost,” Rih Rih opens “Take Care.” Drizzy and Rihanna reunite to promise to “take care” of their scarred lovers on the album title track, which also samples Gil Scott-Heron and Jamie XX’s “I’ll Take Care of You.” (Billboard)

Last week, the LP’s tracklisting found its way online.

1. Over My Dead Body 2. Shot For Me 3. Headlines 4. Crew Love 5. Take Care 6. Marvin’s Room / Buried Alive Interlude 7. Under Ground Kings 8. We’ll Be Fine 9. Make Me Proud (Feat. Nicki Minaj) 10. Lord Knows 11. Cameras / Good Ones Go Interlude 12. Doing It Wrong 13. The Real Her 14. HYFR (Hell Ya F*ckin Right) 15. Look What You’ve Done 16. Practice (Take Care)

Initially slated to drop on his birthday last month, Drizzy delayed Take Care through mid-November.

“The new date for Take Care is November 15th, 2011. I managed to create this album in my hometown of Toronto and the thoughts and stories I wanted to get across just became so clear. It truly felt like when I was here 3 years ago making So Far Gone. So I have completed 19 songs (17 on physical and 2 on bonus), and have run into a roadblock of clearing 3 samples in time to make the October 24th date. My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album they way I NEED you to hear it. The choice was clear as day for me. November 15th you will get Take Care the exact way I created it with no trimmings. This music means too much to me to get attached to dates and I do apologize for the delay but I promise that it is only for the benefit of our experience together. Club Paradise Tour will also be moved to when students are back from the Christmas/New Year break so that I can get to more schools. New dates will be released in the next week…see you all soon.” (October’s Very Own)

Take Care is slated to drop Tuesday, November 15th.
