According to footage and reports, former Cash Money Records star Juvenile showed Drizzy some love by performing “Back That Azz Up” in Dallas.

Drake has been giving his fans surprises on stage throughout his Would You Like A Tour? tour. One day after previewing his upcoming “Worst Behaviour” music video for fans in New Orleans, Drake brought out Juvenile in Dallas. The former Cash Money artist and Hot Boys member performed his hit song, “Back That Azz Up,” for the fans, with Drake serving as his hypeman. Following his performance in Dallas, Drake and tour mates Future, Miguel, and PARTYNEXTDOOR have a day off, before heading to San Antonio on Tuesday. Drake’s most recent album, Nothing Was The Same, came out back in September and has now sold over one million copies as of last week. (Complex)

Earlier this year, Juvie downplayed his past issues with Cash Money and noted giving them permission to sample “Back Dat Azz Up.”

“I look at it like this. Every record company they got out here, somebody opened hte door on it. If you go to Def Jam, you go to Universal, somebody opened the door, somebody was first. I don’t look at it like they owe me something for that, in that matter. And a lot of the youngsters, they’re not going to know unless somebody tell them, that’s a great thing. I think it’s good when it’s cats out there like you [radio caller] that tell them the history of what’s going on. I don’t feel like Cash Money owes me anything or they should do an album with me. If we can sit down at the table and work it out, I really don’t have a problem with doing business with them or nobody. I mean, that’s why I was so quick to release the rights to ‘Back That Azz Up’ to Drake, just to show them I ain’t tripping, I’m a businessman.” (“Sway In The Morning”)

Last fall, Juvie offered his take on Drake’s decision to remix his late 1990’s anthem.

“I’m kind of flattered that it was Drake and that it’s an R&B song,” he said. “I never pictured it to be used that way but he did a great job with it, man. … We started going through the clearance process and stuff like that — and when I heard it I was impressed because I really thought that ‘Back That Azz Up’ was a hard song to remake. The fact that he took it somewhere else, I think it was big. I like that.” (XXL Mag)

In a separate interview, the Southern rapper explained how thankful he was someone decided to remix his hit.

“I was kinda like, “finally.” Somebody’s finally showing me some props and showing my impact on the game. It’s a blessing. One of the biggest stars in the game remixed my song. How many people can say that? It gives me motivation. It lets me know I had a great career, that I really had influence on people and an impact. I hear my DNA in a lot of these new cats, and I love it. It makes you feel like you did your part.” (BET)
