According to reports, Drizzy’s third solo effort keeps his hot streak of platinum-selling albums going.

Drake didn’t go platinum first week as he hoped, but his third studio album has finally hit the million sales mark. In just over a month of being on sale, Nothing Was The Same has officially sold 1,029,408 copies. Along with that, Take Care has gone double platinum selling 2,082,000 copies, while Thank Me Later is currently sitting at 1,698,000 units sold. (The Masked Gorilla)

A few weeks back, Drake downplayed the importance of putting up big numbers.

This time out, Drizzy says he’s going into the release date for his upcoming Nothing Was the Same with a clear mind. “Best advice I ever got is: No expectations lead to no disappointments. So I have no expectations,” the rapper told MTV News back in August as he was preparing for his big 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance. NWTS doesn’t officially release until September 24, but the LP leaked onto the Internet very late on Sunday night. It was an issue that Drake has been anticipating. “Really, just more than September 24, I’m just excited whenever people get the music,” he told us. “The numbers, the sales, all that stuff it’s cool. I’m sure I’ll get into it on the day like, ‘How much did we sell,’ trying to figure it out, but aside from that, I’m just excited for people to hear the full body of work.” (MTV)

Recent reports suggested Drizzy would bank on his Boi-1da-produced track “The Language” to be his next single.

Now that Nothing Was The Same is a huge success and the initial singles have performed well, Drake is ready for the next round of battle. To keep the momentum going, Drizzy and the team have picked the fan favorite ‘The Language’ as the next single from the LP which is set to impact radio on Tuesday, November 5th. The track was produced by Boi-1da, Vinylz and Allen Ritter, and features a stunt outro from Birdman. Also lookout for the ‘Worst Behavior’ music video which has already been shot. (HHNM)

Last week, Drizzy spoke on his unreleased “Trophies” track needing some fine-tuning and nearly making it onto the retail release.

“I wouldn’t even call it a leftover,” Drake said, referring to his new “Trophies” track. “It was definitely on the album. I know Hit-Boy is going to watch this interview and be like, ‘Pssshh.’ It was definitely on the album. I’m not a, ‘Just-Throw-It-Together’ type of guy and I had two different hooks on there. I didn’t like either of them and I just started sending it around and as great of a job other people did, it didn’t sound right if I wasn’t on the hook. I always want to do my own hooks for the sake of my performances. I don’t like being off a hook because then I can’t do ‘Language,’ ‘Worst Behavior’ — I can’t really give you a moment if someone else is doing the hook. … I’m going to drop ‘Trophies’ though. I’m going to finish it up and drop ‘Trophies.’ I got a lot of records that aren’t out yet.” (Revolt TV)

Recently, the Toronto native revealed he had about five unreleased tracks which could pop up in the near future.

“I’m not a guy that does 40 songs for a project and picks 13 of them. If I’m gonna go as far as to track over a beat, I usually have the utmost faith in it that it’ll end up somewhere,” he explained. “I don’t really dispose of too many songs. I have stuff that didn’t make this album definitely, but I don’t have 20 or 30 of them — I have four or five records that just didn’t make it because I was trying to keep it concise and whatever I end up doing with those, I’ll do with them.” (CBC Radio)
