While Baby feels Drake will go down as one of the best, he still believes Lil Wayne has set the high bar for all hip-hop artists.

“Yeah, I still do that. I love doing that,” Baby said when asked about staying involved in Cash Money/Young Money artists’ careers. “That’s what keeps me young, being in the studio. I worked with them all. We all got personal relationships. They my son acts. They the new talent, and they very talented. I think Drake gonna be the next best to ever do it, after Wayne. He gon’ hold the world down, and I feel like Nicki [Minaj] there. It’s just a matter of time. She will be…you never had a female artist that you would put in the realm with the males to be the best. She that…That’s the picture we paint to the world. This is family, me and my son, Wayne. You know where we come from and how hard. Ain’t nothing never came easy to us. It’s a together-forever thing, and we wanna grow and let the artists grow. Let them be as big as they could be and just keep growing as a brand.” (XXL Magazine)

Last year, Drake hinted at a few hip-hop co-signs he has received since entering rap in the late 2000’s.

“For anybody that doesn’t believe in me, your favorite rappers do,” he added. “They call me for hooks, features and all that. Ross, Jeezy, the hardest dudes–B.G. C-Murder calls me from jail. Turk calls me from jail to tell me I’m doing great. For the people that don’t believe, the people that you do believe in got love for me. That’s all that matters.” (XXL Mag)

Rap heavyweight Fat Joe previously praised Drizzy’s rap talent.

“He’s just moving at a way faster pace than other artists have in the past,” Joe explained in an interview. “He’s putting out maybe five, six, seven hit records. You know how hard it is for a person to have one hit? So imagine what his album is like…Two very different artists…As far as I’m concerned, [50 Cent] had one hot album, and his first album was a classic and that’s it. After that everything else was bubble gummed down. So Drake, I think he will outlast 50 Cent. If you talk about 50 Cent on top really making hot music it didn’t even last two, three, four years. Looking at the quality of the music that Drake is making and the different lanes–he wrote that song for Alicia Keys, ‘Unthinkable’–I think we ain’t seen nobody like him yet.” (VIBE)

Not only impressed by Drake, Lil Wayne recently discussed the star power behind Young Money’s Nicki Minaj.

“I can’t front, I just thought she was going to be the new female MC that none of these other female MCs can touch,” Wayne said about Nicki. “But now, she’s blossomed into a megastar with this new attitude and this style. Now when I talk to her, I just tell her, ‘Do what you do, baby.’ I used to be able to go into the studio and say, ‘Nah, don’t say that, don’t say that.’ You know, ‘That was better.’ Now, do what you do, baby. I don’t have a clue about what you’re doing right now, but it’s working, do it.” (MTV)
