Young Money's Drake has addressed the recently leaked "Gonorrhea" collaboration for Lil' Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being EP, and explained his verse on the track.
Detailing his 16 bars, Drake broke down the title-grabbing duet.
“I kind of just did my verse when I heard the beat. I knew what the song was called and what it was about eventually,” Drake told us. “Wayne’s a character. [Laughs.] Expect the unexpected, I guess. It’s funny and it definitely makes people [pay attention]. It’s like, ‘Chlamydia! Oh, I should listen to this, maybe it’s educating me.’ [Laughs.] It’s crazy. But people like it, I got a lot of good feedback on the verse. I think [the project] is just a lot of Wayne songs that, it’s that stuff that people want to hear. But Tha Carter IV is gonna be on another level. It’s something for people to enjoy it, buy it, love it; if you love Lil Wayne, get it. But know that Tha Carter IV is going to be through the roof.” (MTV)
The track began circulating on the Internet earlier this week.
Lil Wayne and Drake link up for the humorously titled “Gonorrhea,” the first track off Weezy’s album I Am Not a Human Being, dropping online Monday. Rapping over sparse, popping instrumentation, the Young Money MCs take turns burning fake rappers, with Wayne chanting on the chorus, “I wouldn’t want to be ya, pussy ass ni**a, I don’t want your gonorrhea.” Proceed with caution. Wayne’s videographer DJ Scoob Doo recently said the project would be accompanied with multiple visuals.
“I got videos for the Carter IV and the I’m not a Human Being EP all ready. I can’t say the name of the song but Wayne was singing on the hook, but they’re getting Drake to re-do it and it’s off the Human Being EP,” Scoob says. “Carter IV is probably the best album I’ve heard in the last decade, but Wayne is such a different artist now that wants to record new music when he comes home. The stuff he’s talking about now is just on another level. That’s why a lot of the songs on the EP were originally taken from theCarter IV.” (VIBE)
