According to reports, Drizzy will take on double duty on the popular sketch comedy show.

OVO is taking over “SNL.” Fresh off his “Would You Like a Tour,” Drake will host and perform on the first “Saturday Night Live” of the new year. The Canadian rapper will pull double duty on the January 18 episode of the show, it was announced on Saturday. He previously served as musical guest opposite Anna Faris in 2011. The former “Degrassi” star can currently be seen on the big screen, making a cameo in the comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. He recently received five Grammy nominations in categories including Best Rap Album for Nothing Was the Same. (Rap-Up)

With a busy 2013 which included receiving his first Grammy award, performing at the annual OVO Fest and dropping a new LP, Drake was recently named Twitter’s most-searched hip-hop artist.

The purveyor of the OVO sound generated 52,202,000 tweets, as detailed in a report provided to MTV News. Drake’s Nothing Was the Same LP was tweeted about 2,942,000 times and the rapper spawned a number of top trending topics like #DrakeTaughtMe, #DrakeTwitterPassword and album-related trends like #NothingWasTheSame, Pound Cake, The Language and Wu-Tang Forever. The Toronto native broke big news of joining Jordan Brand during a performance near Nike’s Portland headquarters earlier this month.

“Growing up, I’m sure we idolized this guy. He goes by the name of Michael Jordan, you understand what I’m saying?” Drake said to the crowd at the Rose Garden Arena during his tour stop in Portland, Oregon, on Tuesday night. Known for its microbreweries, chainsaw wielding and local hero Timber Joey, Portland is also home to Nike and Jordan Brand’s corporate offices. “So today, I came to Portland and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family so I feel like I’m at home right now, if you understand what I’m talking about,” Drake said without getting into specifics. “And it is a family and I don’t take that word lightly.” (MTV)

According to recent reports, rap star Kanye West is proud of Drake for taking his career to the next level with Jordan Brand.

He may hate Nike’s guts, but Kanye West says he’s got NO BEEF with Drake for signing a deal with the shoe giant — in fact, he’s downright happy for the guy, TMZ has learned Sources close to Yeezus tell us … Kanye is still real upset with the Swoosh for refusing to give him royalties for a shoe line. But we’re told when he found out about Drake’s new partnership with Nike for his own special OVO Air Jordans, Kanye was proud. As one source put it, “Kanye will always be happy with rappers taking steps in the fashion world.” Bros before OVOs. (TMZ)
