Young Money’s Drake made sure to show some love to Texas A&M star quarterback Johnny “Football” Manziel in light of him turning 21 this week.
While details are slim, Johnny posted a photo of himself and Drizzy together for his 21st.
Johnny Manziel was on his “Worst Behavior” during his 21st birthday. That’s according to him at least. The pictures he posted on his Instagram actually shows him on his less catchy, “Something You Would Expect Behavior.” Because muhf*ckers do love him, like Drake for instance. The (former) Texas A&M quarterback spent some time with Drake for his 21st and probably went to a party from the looks of his below photo captioned, “21st behavior don’t you ever get it messed up” The predictability is only inferred from what’s on his Instagram, however; he probably kept some his other birthday escapades privately after learning from his previous social media controversies. Additional reports claim Manziel did it big by heading out to Las Vegas with friends.
Less than 24 hours after turning 21, Johnny Manziel was already at a blackjack table in Vegas … gambling like a champ … and TMZ Sports has the pics. The Texas A&M quarterback suited up Friday night — along with a bunch of friends — and hit up the casino at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas … where they bee lined it straight for the blackjack tables. Sources in the casino tell us the guys played for roughly an hour — from the looks of things, Johnny was doing his gambling with a short stack of the standard $5 red chips. We’re told Manziel had himself some chew at the table … and was often seen spitting the tobacco into an empty beer bottle (see the pic below). Unclear if he won or lost any cash — but one thing’s for sure … the guys all seemed like they were having a blast. (TMZ)
Coincidentally, Johnny’s birthday happened to fall on Friday (December 6), the same day Drizzy nixed a Grammy Nominations concert performance.
Drake has canceled his spot on the Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!, which CBS will broadcast live at 10 p.m. EST tonight, due to an unspecified “scheduling complications,” according to TMZ. Drake’s rep reportedly told the site that the rapper is “currently in the middle of his nationwide ‘Would You Like A Tour?’ tour and sincerely apologizes to his fans that he can’t be there.” The producers of the Grammy show had first announced his involvement in early October – a few months after Drake was was doing shots out of a Grammy trophy – and the rapper’s touring itinerary shows nothing between his Wednesday gig in Tacoma, Washington, and tomorrow’s concert in Kansas City, Missouri. Drake’s rep declined to offer TMZ any more insight on why Drake cannot make it to the show. (Rolling Stone)
Drizzy recently described Johnny as a close friend and good person despite some negative press he had received.
“Despite what some people report, I actually consider myself a positive reinforcement in his life. I try to keep him on track. I know he has a bright future and he’s displaying it right, especially in his last two performances,” Drake explained in an interview. “He’s a great guy and he’s got the best intentions. He does nothing with malicious intent. I love him to death. We’ve gone from sort of like I’m a fan of his and he’s a fan of mine to genuine friends. And I think we’ll be friends for a long time. He is a pure soul. … He’s not a wild guy. He’s passionate about music and he’s passionate about football. In his free time when he (wasn’t) playing football, he chose to come see me. … For me it’s not about hanging out and looking cool because I know Johnny Manziel. I care about this guy.” (ESPN)
