Along with praising Miller, Trump took the time to co-sign the record.

“A lot of people are calling me about the Mac Miller rap song,” Trump said in a video. “Now, it’s named ‘Donald Trump.’ Maybe you should pay me a lot of money, but it just did over 20 million people, tuning into Mac Miller. So in one way, I’m proud of him. I haven’t actually seen the , it’s a little hard to understand on the song itself. Probably, it’s not the cleanest language you’ve ever heard, but this kid is the new Eminem. Everybody says he’s fantastic. Let’s see what it is. But the ‘Donald Trump’ song just hit over 20 million, that’s not so bad. I’m very proud of him.” (From The Desk of Trump)

Last month, Miller talked about Trump’s initial reaction to the song’s buzz.

“It’s funny because the Donald Trump thing came at the end,” Miller said, “so I never really thought about [how he’d react] because I never really thought about it reaching that level.” The 19-year-old Pittsburgh MC said as unexpected as it was to get a tweet from Trump, with the video now approaching 17 million views on YouTube, it only made sense that the wealthy CEO took notice. “I think it was more comedic than anything,” Miller said. “It’s just kinda like a quick little, ‘Oh wow, Mac is on Donald Trump’s radar.’ And I was just like ‘Oh, that’s something you never expect.’ “But then it’s not really that crazy to think that if a song has 16 million views and it’s called ‘Donald Trump’ – I would hope Donald Trump would know about it,” Miller said. The rapper’s profile began to gain popular attention around the late 2000’s.

Before his solo career, he was part of a rap group, The Ill Spoken with fellow Pittsburgh rapper, Beedie. Prior to signing with Rostrum, in his mid-teen years, Mac Miller went by the alias “Easy Mac”. Upon turning 18, he signed with Rostrum Records and released his mixtape debut, titled K.I.D.S. with the label in August 2010. On March 29, Miller released an EP called On And On And Beyond. The six-track work was produced by Rostrum Records. (Lets Sing It)

Miller may have some big shoes to fill as Eminem was named King of Hip-Hop earlier this week.

With his dominant album sales, YouTube views and social-media scores, Eminem takes the title as the current King of Hip-Hop. Unlike our Queen of Pop ranking, which Lady Gaga took in a walk, Marshall Mathers’s win was somewhat closer – note the fairly tight point range among our top three. (Rolling Stone)
