Despite a weekend filled with arrest reports, rap veteran DMX's representative has contacted SOHH to promise fans will still be able to see him perform at some upcoming shows.
According to rep Domenick Nati, X’s recent run-ins with law enforcement won’t keep him from performing.
“DMX’s brief arrest last Friday will not affect his upcoming performances this weekend. The charges were resolved in under and hour and will not disrupt his concert schedule,” Nati told SOHH via statement. “Fans can still expect him August 2nd in Essington, PA and August 3rd in Modesto, CA.” ~Domenick Nati (Nati Celebrity Services) (SOHH)
In a recently released clip, Dark Man X is shown non-aggressive and a bit tired during his arrest.
The rapper’s representatives were adamant that DMX wasn’t charged with DUI during his most recent arrest but, man, he appears to be under the influence of something. The police officer who pulled X over felt the same way as he’s seen issuing a field sobriety test on the 42-year-old rapper in this newly released dashcam footage obtained by TMZ. Six quick reactions: 1. DMX was officially charged with suspicion of driving under the influence and failing to have a valid driver’s license, per Greenville County jail officials statement to Reuters. He paid bail and was released. You know, just so everyone has their facts straight. 2. Surprisingly, Earl’s pretty cool throughout the whole arrest. No barking, growling or any other aggressive behavior. 3. X is driving a 1978 Plymouth Volare. 4. Sneaker shop West NYC got the sweetest free advertising plug they’ll see for 2013. 5. From the 3:20 mark on, Earl can be seen nodding, sniffling and twitching. Granted it’s rather late at night/early in the morning…yeah, infer whatever you want. 6. Details of the rapper’s latest run-in with law enforcement surfaced across the Internet on Friday (July 26).
A spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a trooper received a call about a possible DUI driver and subsequently observed the hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, driving erratically in his Plymouth station wagon and pulled him over. Suspecting he was inebriated, the officer administered a Breathalyzer which DMX promptly flubbed. (E! Online)
The rap veteran also allegedly drove without a license.
The rapper was seen driving “erratically” Thursday night at about 11:30 p.m. when he was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to Sgt. Bob Beres of the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s media relations department. After failing a field sobriety test, he was transported to the Greenville Detention Center and charged with driving under the influence, not having a driver’s license and not wearing a seat belt, Beres says.
