Former Ruff Ryders leader DMX has finally come clean on why he has issues with Young Money's Drake, revealing his disregard to properly put together a posthumous Aaliyah LP pushed him over the edge.

Although DMX said he has respect for Lil Wayne, the former Def Jam star detailed his problems with Drizzy.

“Drake,” X said when asked what artists he feels are not talented. “He is [talented], he has talent but it’s kind of redundant. It’s kind of the same all the time, sounds the same, to me, personally, it’s like an annoying sound. [noises] It’s like a washing machine. [noises] Or a dryer. [noises] You know what, I don’t even have to explain why. I just don’t like what it is and I’m kind of feeling some kind of way about the fact you’ve commissioned, you’ve been blessed, you’ve been given the opportunity to do the Aaliyah album yet you don’t include anybody that she worked with personally? What part of the game is that? I’ma tell you why I’m mad, son! There’s a reason why I feel the way I feel. How do you do that? How do you disregard what this woman did, what this beautiful angel did.” (MTV RapFix)

Recently, X discussed his close-knit relationship to the late singer.

“I had fun shooting that video,” the 41-year-old Yonkers, N.Y., native admits referring to the “Come Back in One Piece” video. “My wife [Tashera Simmons] got mad because there was one scene I was sitting up on the bench and [Aaliyah] was sitting [below] between my legs. I had on a jean jacket, it was a little chilly, and [Aaliyah] just had on a T-shirt. I was rubbing her arms, warming her up… I just felt the eyeballs [from Tashera]. A wife can give you a stare that will burn the side of your head. It was like a magnifying glass with the sun on me [laughs]. But I wouldn’t change a thing.” (The Boom Box)

The singer’s ex-boyfriend/music mogul Dame Dash recently reacted to reports of Drake “commanding” a posthumous Aaliyah LP.

“Anytime I can hear her voice, that’s a good thing. And anyone that respected her enough to make a record with her, I appreciate ya’ll,” he said. “I haven’t heard the record, but I appreciate the art of it. I love hearing her voice. I hope it’s something that I haven’t heard before.” When asked if he’d like to lend a hand in assisting with the project if offered, Dame wrestled with the idea. “That’s interesting. I didn’t know that,” he said to the news of a posthumous album. “It depends on how he [Drake] wants me to help. I don’t know what I could bring to the table there, but yeah I would do it. Anything involving Aaliyah and it’s positive and the energy [is] right with it, I would be a part of it. My love for Aaliyah will never change.” (The Juice)

Over the winter, DMX also publicly went at Drake during a live radio interview.

“No, no,” X said when asked if he likes Drake. “I don’t like anything about Drake. I don’t like his f*cking voice. I don’t like what he talks about, I don’t like his face, I don’t like the way he walks, I don’t like nothing. I don’t like his haircut. I might just — let me shut up. Stop right there.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
