G-Unit’s DJ Whoo Kid recently opened up about working with Aftermath’s Slim the Mobster and how the rap newcomer’s mentor Dr. Dre is back with a hunger for more.

In addition to describing a joint Slim/Dre track, Whoo Kid also narrowed in on the Doc’s music return.

While in London Town to kick off his Live Base club tour with the Grime Godfather Wiley, SoulCulture TV caught up with DJ Whoo Kid at the Dope Chef showroom and he revealed that he would be premiering a brand new Dr Dre track today (November 5th) called “Back Against The Wall” which will be taken from a forthcoming mixtape by the latest aftermath signing Slim The Mobster. Describing the record as “It feels like he’s on some hardcore sh*t, NWA type feel, like he’s back, he’s kicking it, he’s calling out haters, f*ck y’all, no more Mr. Nice Guy type sh*t,” it will premiere on The Whoolywood Shuffle co-hosted by MTV’s Sway on Sirius XM. Last month, Slim the Mobster talked to SOHH about Dre saying he was only focused on working on his and fellow Aftermath rapper Kendrick Lamar‘s career.

“I’ve been knew that,” Slim jokingly told SOHH when informed about Dre’s primary focus on him and Kendrick Lamar. “I knew that months ago. It never changed how I am or who I am. I mean, things change but I’m not trying to change too much. I don’t want it to be as if [Dr. Dre’s pledge] gives me myconfidence. Confidence comes from what I do. Despite who I’m with, that’s where my confidence comes from. [Dre’s words are] like a boost, but I never had the vision in my head, ‘Because Dre this, Dre that,’ nah, I still got work to do.” (SOHH)

A week prior, Dre revealed his intent to primarily work alongside Slim and Kendrick.

“I am never going to give music up,” he said. “Music is like air to me, [music] is like oxygen, so I am always doing that. As soon as I get back to Los Angeles, I am back in the studio doing my thing. I have a couple of new artists that I am excited about, Kendrick Lamar and Slim The Mobster. These are the next two artists, and these are probably my final two artists that I am going to be working with at least for the next couple of years. I am going to devote all my attention to them and make sure their sh*t comes out the way it should be. I am just having fun with life right now!” (Global Grind)

In addition to working on his forthcoming Detox solo LP, Dre recently discussed wanting to resort back to his deejay days.

It’s no secret that Dre has been fine-tuning is long-awaited Detoxalbum, but what fans may not know is that the former N.W.A producer has at least thought about returning to the DJ booth. “I’ve actually been talking about it a little bit; dusting my hands off and getting back in the DJ scene,” he said. “We’ll see what’s up with that in the future.” (MTV)
