In Khaled’s opinion, the Texas team had an upper hand in Game 1 last week.

“They won that one game because they were cheaters. They won but they cheated — see they practiced with no [air conditioning]. … I respect everyone, but I can’t respect somebody turning the AC off and cheating. I can’t do it. And The Streets is saying they cheated.” (“First Take”)

Gatorade went at Miami’s LeBron James after he exited last Thursday’s game in San Antonio due to leg cramps.

Moments after King James was carried off the court like he was dying in San Antonio … Gatorade went to Twitter and unleashed its inner troll on LeBron, who happens to be a Powerade guy. “The person cramping wasn’t our client. Our athletes can take the heat,” Gatorade posted. When someone asked, “WHERE WERE YOU WHEN LEBRON NEEDED YOU????” … Gatorade replied, “we were waiting on the sidelines, but he prefers to drink something else.” (TMZ)

Gatorade eventually issued an open apology over the controversy it sparked.

Gatorade apologized Friday for the comments and also deleted the tweets. The only tweet that Gatorade left on its feed related to the matter Friday had been posted late in Game 1, saying, “With a game this hot, we’re right at home.” “Our apologies for our response to fans’ tweets during (Thursday) night’s Heat vs. Spurs game,” Gatorade said in a release. “We got caught up in the heat of the battle. As a longtime partner of the Miami Heat, we support the entire team.” (ESPN)

Following the 110-95 loss, James came forward and spoke on the defeat.

“It sucks at this point in time in the season,” James told a pool reporter, after missing his usual post-game press conference to receive an IV. “After I came out of the game, they kinda took of. It was frustrating sitting out and not being able to help our team. … It’s frustration and anger.” (Sports Illustrated)
