Miami producer DJ Khaled has stepped forward to address collaborator Jay Z turning into a no-show for their star-studded “They Don’t Love You No More” music video. #WhereJayAt?
Khaled noted Jigga’s lack of music video-making for his absence in the visual.
“Jay Z doesn’t really shoot that many videos,” Khaled explained in an interview. “He don’t shoot that many videos. He ain’t never say yes and he ain’t never say no. If you notice, the records he do get on, he really don’t shoot too many videos. He don’t really shoot too many videos for himself. I was grateful to have the verse and have the opportunity to work with somebody I’m inspired by and look up to. Just to get him on the record was a major accomplishment and that’s what it’s about.” (Power 106 FM)
Khaled’s new music video features all of its guest features minus the rap mogul.
In the new video for “They Don’t Love You No More,” the two Miami natives stand atop luxury vehicles and hit golf balls into the — well, hit golf balls not that far. That’s not a slight, fellas. Just an observation. We still got love, even if you feel like no one else does, like they discuss on the track. The lead to single to Khaled’s upcoming I Changed A Lot also features Meek Mill delivering his fiery verse and French Montana on the hook — though Jay Z doesn’t show up when it time for the song’s final verse. A trailer of Khaled cruising through Jay Z’s childhood neighborhood boasting about the mentioned track landed online in April.
“I am honored to work with Jay Z on my new album. I’ve worked so hard to get to this point. My fans expect me to be greater and keep being great, so I made it my business and I made it a mission to secure more wins.” (WSHH)
The mega producer hinted at a new album dropping in the coming months over the spring.
“I just left Marcy projects , see for yourself the summer is mines! #theydontloveyounomore #wtb jus know!! http://bit.ly/1j9sTUu” (DJ Khaled’s Twitter)
