In White’s opinion, Doe B was likely targeted in Saturday’s fatal attack.

T.I. signed Thomas to his Atlanta-based record label Grand Hustle Records in November 2012, according to DJ Frank White. White is a local radio personality at 97.9 JAMZ and Thomas’ manager. “He was a great guy, a fun guy and a very humble person,” White said. White believes Kimberle Johnson was an innocent bystander who had no connection to Thomas. He said he does feel Thomas, who was at the bar and grill as a patron and not a performer, was targeted in the shooting. “I don’t believe this was random,” White said. “A lot of people don’t want to see others succeed.” (Montgomery Advertiser)

Management company Blueprint Group issued a statement on the Alabama rapper’s death over the weekend.

“Doe B was an amazing young man, in every sense of the word,” the statement reads. “A truly talented artist, a loving father and a dedicated member of the Hip Hop community at large, he touched the lives of the many people who had the privilege of knowing him. The Blueprint Group offers our condolences to our Doe B label partners Interscope / Hustle Gang, his management DJ Frank White and Brooklyn Knights, and most of all his family, friends and fans at this very difficult time. We ask that you remember him not by his untimely death, but by his love of life and the music he left behind.” (XXL Mag)

While details were initially scarce, buzz behind Doe’s tragic passing surfaced early Saturday.

The hip hop community is mourning another loss this morning. Word came down late last night, early this morning that the Alabama native wordsmith, Doe B, who was also signed to the Hustle Gang imprint, was shot and killed last night. (Stupid Dope)

A tweet from the late 22-year-old rapper’s Twitter page confirmed the shocking news.

“On behalf of doe b’s management i would like to thank all of his fans and say Rest in Peace my brother Glenn thomas aka @CBMDOEB,” a tweet from Doe’s page read December 28. (Doe B’s Twitter)
