DJ Drama recently spoke on beef rumors involving Young Jeezy as a result of the duo’s falling out late last year at an awards show.
The Southern disc jockey admitted that their relationship is not as close as it had been in previous years.
“It is what it is,” Drama said in an interview. “We made a lot of history together though. We put a lot of bangin’ mixtapes out. There’s a lot of rumors spreading around the Internet, you know. They said my chain was snatched and I got bloodied up. It got a little crazy out there but you know, there was a scuffle, grown men business. Nothing crazy, nothing serious. It happens everyday. An incident reportedly took place earlier this year at the screening for Notorious.
Aphilliates Music Group President La the Darkman confirmed Drama was assaulted at the film’s premiere in Atlanta January 13, by members of Young Jeezy’s crew CTE. Drama walked away unscathed. “There was a little scuffle. At a movie screening,” Darkman explained in an interview. “A little thing that got handled. Fake thugs with low self esteem want to pick on the DJs. We definitely didn’t initiate this though. DJs don’t go looking for beef with fake gangstas.” (The Boom Box)
Drama and Jeezy’s differences were publicized at the November Dirty Awards with the entertainers’ entourages going head-to-head.
La the Darkman was in a fight with a member of Jeezy’s Corporate Thugz Entertainment squad. Darkman said the scuffle stemmed from Jeezy dropping an F-bomb in front of Drama’s name during a performance of The-Dream‘s “I Luv Your Girl” at his September album-release party in NYC. (MTV)
Both Atlanta artists are known for working together on Gangsta Grillz mixtapes.
Mixtapes by Jeezy and Drama include The Street Dream – Gangsta Grillz Special Edition, Can’t Ban The Snowman and Trap Or Die. (Gangsta Grillz)
