During a listening session last night (April 19), Clue announced the next offering in his Professional series.

While hosting FabolousS.O.U.L. Tape listening session tonight, DJ Clue mentioned that he was working on his fourth album, The Professional 4. Considering how records are leaked these days, Clue’s going to have a tough time keep everything under wraps. Fast shout to Chuck on the tip. Remember where you heard it first, stoooopid! Prior to dropping his 2006 compilation LP, Clue talked to SOHH about the six year delay in releases.

“It’s not me, it’s the artist, man,” Clue told SOHH regarding the reasons for his album’s perpetual delay. “I don’t rap. It’s the artists. The artists got their own schedule. They got their own agenda. I had to do it when they can do it….unless I wanna just take any song.” (SOHH)

Clue’s Professional series began after earning a spot at New York’s Hot 97 radio station in the mid-1990’s.

The air time furthered his reputation, and Jay-Z in turn invited him to join forces with Roc-a-Fella, which released Clue?’s major-label debut,The Professional (1997). The album featured primarily exclusive tracks, each boasting one of New York’s top rappers, everyone from Nas and Mobb Deep to DMX and Ja Rule. A second volume followed in 2000, and in the meantime Clue? toured with Roc-a-Fella in support of Jay-Z’s Hard Knock Life album as documented on Backstage(2000). He then parted ways with Roc-a-Fella and embarked on his own path, establishing Desert Storm Records and debuting Fabolous in 2001. Years later, once Jay-Z ascended to the position of president of Def Jam, Clue? recorded The Professional, Pt. 3 (2006). (All Music)

Debuting at No. 73 with 54,900 copies in 2006, the project features a wide range of rap stars.

The Professional 3 is the third studio album from DJ and producer DJ Clue?. It was released December 19th, 2006 on Desert Storm Records, Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings. The album features guest appearances by Nas, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Juelz Santana, Mobb Deep, Jagged Edge, Fabolous, The Game, Mario Winans, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Bun B, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Cassidy, Styles P, Cam’ron, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and others.
