According to Alex, Diddy had different scenarios with his production requests.

Diddy wasn’t shy in expressing quirky suggestions for the sound of a potential hit record. “[He was] like, ‘I want the beat that makes me feel blue,'” he continues, “[That’s] blue as in the color.” While disco balls shined in the dimly-lit studio, the “Hello Good Morning” artist even went as far as asking for a tune with race and location in mind. “[Diddy] said to me, ‘I want a beat that makes me feel like a white man in a basement in Atlanta,'” shares Alex, who’s uncertain if any of the records he worked on will make the final cut of Last Train to Paris. “Diddy’s hilarious.” (Rap-Up)

Recently, Diddy ghostwriter Mista Raja told SOHH about the mogul’s intense studio habits.

“Over the years of working with him on different records, he’s pushed me lyrically to take it to whatever level I gotta get to. Like, don’t let it all get in my head. Some people think they’re so hot that they won’t listen. “I bodied that, I bodied that.” He’ll make you sit in the room for hours and hours and days listening to the same track. It ain’t no joking around like, you’re only gonna get that one beat and you gotta finish that off and take it to the next one and I embrace the track every time.” (SOHH Guest Star)

Prior to moving his release date to September, Diddy recently talked about dropping the album in June.

“Daddy’s home baby! I’m here playing Last Train to Paris for the Interscope staff,” Diddy told radio host Tim Westwood. “The US release date is June 22nd. So I’m letting you know, it’s breaking news right here. Letting the world know, June 22nd. Why is it June 22nd? Because we want to set it up the right way. We wanna take our time, drop two more singles, drop a bunch of videos, we wanna come over here and do some shows and small venues, we wanna connect with some UK artists — as a matter of fact, I have this record called ‘Hello, Good Morning’ and I’m looking, for the American version, T.I.’s on it, I’m looking to build with a UK artist for the UK version. I wanna do something real real special.” (Tim Westwood TV)

He has also revealed some of the album’s collaborations.

“On Last Train to Paris, Wayne is on the album, Drake is on the album, we’re trying to get [Jay-Z] on the album, trying to get Janelle Monae on the album,” Diddy said in an interview. “Everybody that’s on the album, it’s not done in a regular appearance way. It’s done in a unique way that’s authentic. It’s not about a single or [album sales]. It doesn’t have that behind it. Wayne is on a record that’s called ‘Strobe Lights.’ It’s one of the first records where I hear him talking about love and how love has affected him. That’s the type of things I wanted to get out of people if they were on the album. I wanted people to get out of their comfort zone and do something that was special. He did the videofor me over the weekend. ‘Strobe Lights,’ it’s gonna be tough.” (MTV)
